Got a few request for people volunteering for the 100D port.
Since it makes no sense to keep everything in private, I suggest you type here your questions so any dev can answer them :)

You can port ML to the new firmware almost blindly. Then ask for users that have the newer version from the factory to help with figuring our the remaining stubs. I did the same and was worth it
#154
Next nightly will contain fixes to ML features in play mode
#155
Good job! Looking forward for a pull request from you!
#156
What do you mean? Development on the 650D is going on and AFAIK everything just works. The AF dots are probably here to stay unless we figure out another raw feed to piggyback .

Duplicate Questions / Re: I'm in trouble
January 24, 2014, 08:27:06 AM
Take a long walk then get back to me via PM. We are going to fix it if possible but a panicked user is of no use to anyone.
And no, I'm not jocking about the walk

Steps to be done:
- Dump the firmware (get in touch with a1ex, he may help)
- Match stubs / consts between the two ports (requires access to IDA)
- Fix bugs
- ???
- You have your new port.

Tragic Lantern / Re: Tragic Lantern for EOS M

ok, you mean in 5x. yes it does that because canon overlays love to come back and draw over ML stuff. I think it depends on if the canon front buffer has stayed disabled or not.

A tester said it does not happen in the main ML repo though..I would have a second look at how TL manages the redraw and the frontbuffer for the EOSM
#160
And that's a very good thing :-)

I'm trying to put things into order though, that's why I've posted this.

Expect a PM from me soon

Yeah ... It just needs someone with a 6D willing to contribute back to the ML tree that also can do some basic stability tests before pushing stuff.

Shoot me a PM If you want to help. we can help you get started if needed
#162
We are looking for volunteers to do testing of the ML and TL ports for the EOSM to see what's needed to put it on track.

Send me a PM if you are willing to cooperate. No development skills needed, just some free time to do boring tests

If anyone is willing to start maintain the port please send me a PM and I'll help as much as I can
#164
I know it's not a trivial task but it's not impossible either. I bet everyone here is willing to provide all the help and support he can to whoever steps up. This includes mentoring and access to tools if needed.

Yes it was. Kudos to him for sorting everything out

The bottom line is that we don't feel these ports are ready for easy public consumption yet. There are fixes around in other repositories that would make them better but without an effort from someone to try and merge all the stuff back into the main repository we had to make a call and stop publishing the automated builds.

It's not like we are abandoning the ports. Think of this as a desperate call for help to the community.

User Introduction / Re: Italian ML users say Ciao here!

Alex ha fatto un elenco di task che possono essere adatti a prender confidenza con il codice.

Se non ti piacciono ho sempre qualche lavoro di riorganizzazione da fare ma che non ho mai tempo di portare a compimento :-P

General Help Q&A / Re: ML Best Practices

Did you check the option to keep ml files on card in the format dialog?

Sorry for the late reply...

We basically have multiple layers of steps a bot has to go through...

- A stupid question in the registration page
- A valid email address
- Stop Spammer SMF plugin
- httpBL
- Akismet Spam filter
- Amazing mods that go through the crap that spammers post and still gets through

Plus there's a an hidden honeypot in the page that sends data to http://www.projecthoneypot.org

Forum and Website / Re: Problems with activation emails?
December 18, 2013, 10:59:52 PM
The registration function is slowly going back to normality. We had connectivity issues to the mail server due to a change to the routing configuration.

Registration / confirmation emails are being sent to all that tried to register in the past and didn't activate the account yet.

Thanks for reporting it and sorry if it took so long.

Update your build
#173
Here's a sketch of  a possible solution we discussed a while ago, but as a1ex said the user may think ML is not working when instead he has to run the firmware upgrade to copy stuff in the correct place.
