Is there a way to extend the recording limit on the 5d mkiii without the gaps? I could only find a post from 2012 on this.

My wife borrowed the MKiii for a shoot. She took the SD firmware card out and turned it on ( so she says ). I put the firmware sd back in an it gets an error now, cant get it to start. Is it bricked? or is there a solution. Thanks
