I just had the same issue happen; I googled the error again and found my own answer here. Convenient.

I figured it out.... :) Here is what I did:

Pressed Menu button and went to th tab to the left of the star...
Drilled down into Custom Functions (C.Fn)...
Navigated to the right to C.Fn IV and clicked...
I changed it back to : 0:AF/AE lock ( it was stuck on 3: AE/AF, no AE lock.

Working good again now :)

Thanks very much!

Thanks for the quick reply; I reset Canon and ML back to default....I've still got the issue. I did notice that I only have this issue when in P, M, TV, Av modes. All the other modes are working fine.

I was also using DSLR controller ( android app that acts as a remote )  at the time of the error.

Now when I start DSLR Controller it reports:
Detected possible problematic  camera configuration:
Please make sure C.Fn IV: Operation/Others: Shutter/ ... button is set to option 0.
OK

Perhaps this is a DSLR Controller issue and not ML?

Thanks again for any ideas :)

Today while taking some bracketed photos we got an error, it said to remove the battery pack to resolve. I turned off the power, remove the battery pack, and turn the camera back on. Everything seems to work fine with the exception of that now the little beep that happens when the focus square turns green (  to indicate that the photo is in focus  )never turnns green and no longer beeps. So I ended up using manual focus for the rest of the afternoon which was no big deal.

I was scouring through the different canon and magic lantern settings but could not find anything to enable/disable to restore the green box and audible beep.

Any suggestions on how to get that functionality back ?

Thanks very much  for any suggestions.

Raw Video / Re: .RAW vs .MLV
July 31, 2016, 08:34:05 PM
Thanks for posting...

In ML on the Movie tab I have "RAW Video (MLV)" ... that is producing the .mlv files. I think there is no way to have ML create raw video files with the extension of .RAW .

Raw Video / .RAW vs .MLV

Hello, I've seen some workflows start out with .RAW files and other workflows start out with .MLV files... When I record with RAW Video module it is producing the .MLV files...how do you end up with the .RAW files?

If anybody is wondering; it is the HDR Video option that creates the .MOV files.

Thanks for any tips :)

Thanks, for the tips...

I formatted exfat on my 32G PNY Turbo Performance micro sd card.... results:
Write speed: 39.4 MB/s
Read speed: 43.3 MB/s
Write speed: 39.6 MB/s
Read speed: 43.3 MB/s

I'll try recording more RAW now :) Still not sure if HDR Video at 1080p would be a better choice than RAW Video at 720p.

Using 700D/T5i :

If I'm limited to 720p on the 700D when shooting RAW video... wouldn't the HDR Video module option at 1080p be a better way to go?

Thanks for any advice on the pro's and cons of each method!

I just found this app Download Avisynth Batch Scripter ... got it installed.. but it isn't clear how to use it yet; I'll experiment and report back :)

If I have a directory full of .mov files; is there a way to have Avisynth batch process them all? Thanks for any tips!

Walter; thanks for the tips....  I'll reformat with exfat and try the test again as my fat32 card is only getting 15mb write speed and 40ish read speed.

If I'm limited to 720p wouldn't the hdr video option with dual iso at 1080 be a better choice? How many stops of dynamic range would I lose with the hdr video option vs raw video?

Thanks for any further advice suggestions!

Hello, I am using Avisynth and Vitual dub to create my HDR image sequence... Do I have to process each raw.mov file one by one?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello, I'm using the same camera... I'm wondering if you have posted your workflow/settings anywhere... Thanks for sharing if you have. I was not able to get the raw video working very well... I would experience dropped frames on anything past 12.5 frames per second... So right now I'm just using the dual ISO HDR video module instead... Thanks for sharing any ideas or suggestions.

I also have the 700D and am experimenting..... I had a workflow question; are you using the HDR Video part of ML that creates the .mov files or are you using the other feature that creates the .MLK files?

I seems like most of the tutorials and documentation are from 2012... Has everybody moved on to something better I wonder?

Just wondering what a reliable camera model is for shooting 1080 HDR video.

Now I'm using the Canon 700D with a PNY High Performance 60MB/sec card and getting dropped frames on all dimensions but 640/320.

Thanks for any suggestions!
