Feature Requests / 30x magnifier
« on: July 01, 2020, 11:47:34 AM »

i would ask if it´s possible to add a function for 30x magnifier as it is also implemented at the new canon ra? this will be a great help to focus correctly to the stars at astrophotography. i´m currently using the 6d with magic lantern. the display gain is a great help to focus on darker stars.

an hour ago i had the same idea About the WiFi Card (before i read your post). in Germany we say "zwei dumme, ein gedanke" - "two stupid, one thought"

i will try a toshiba WiFi sd Card. hope this will work.

the silent files do not appear after restart the camera.

thx again!

Hi a1lex,

thx for the quick Reply. i have edited the with Notepad++. now the Images are saved as jpg, but the Canon tool still not recognize it. i also test with Extension cr2, still no luck. i think it is the filename also. "IMG_9133.CR2". Maybe i have to add "IMG" to the Image file, but i don´t know how to do this. any help will be welcome. and also only 4 Digits in filename.

"save_mlv MLV CR2 %s/%%08d.%s %s/%04d%%04d.%s %s"

regards, markus

i´d like to use the silent Picture for Electronically Assisted Astronomy. for this it is necessary to Transfer the Pictures live to the PC for live-stacking. if i connect the camera through an usb cable i can´t see the dng/mlv files stored on the Card, only raw or jpg. only if i put the Card direct into the pc´s Reader i see them stored in the dcim Folder.
is there a way to Access These Pictures live from a PC?

thanks, markus

Hi, the Display test does not work on this camera. But i ´m shure that the card with the displaytest autoexec work, cause i have one more 600d that start the test immediately if i close the cards door.
i think the rom dumper will also not work on this camera, but i try it this evening.

any more ideas?

thanks, markus

i have the camera now. so it will go on here.
i testet the card with the display test autoexec.bin on my camera, but nothing happend. so i reformat the card, install ml on the card and setup on my running 600d. now the card is bootable with the display test autoexec.bin. if i now put it in my camera the display test start with closing the card door and display the test picture.

but on the error 70 600d nothing happens. any suggestions how i can go on?

thanks, markus

Camera Emergency Department / Re: My EOS 600D error 70

i am a friend of fey, so some more additional informations from me. the camera get into the error 70 after a long astrophotography session on a high air humidity night. the problem my be occoured by the high humid, but we donßt know exactly.

we found this unbrick guide:

and we start to figure out the first solutions, but none work to get back to the canon menu:

-  try to boot without a card >> error 70
-  try to boot with a freshly formated card >> error 70
-  try to boot in any mode with the dial switch >> error 70

now we wan to try the next steps from the unbricking guide. but for this we need some help. it seems that this error happen some time on the 60D see here:

a1ex seem to have a procedure to unbrick these cameras. if i understand right then there is a value stored that is not valid, so we have to change this value back or reset all settings by the canon menu and bypassing the assert handler.
