Issue: Magic Zoom does not work when I set it to ZoomIn(+) ?
Observation: In last build Electronic Level work very stable, but not rock solid as it work on my 6D.

What about MagicZoom activation during recording video? But in idle all fine. It only work when i set it to Focus ring. What i do wrong? Why MZ do not switchig on by pressing Zoom in button?

What about sound in this version of ML?

I think nobody is really interested in fine-tuning EOS M ML project. And this is very sad.

Hardware partly similiar. Firmware not similiar. Conclusion?

If HW similar, EOS M can record MLV with same resolution as 650D. But for some reason in LV mode CRAW buffer is smaller that in videorecord mode, and FPS set to 30.  ???

Your logic is flawed. Because ML works fine in Liveview with 650D and M both it doesn't mean there is no difference between firmware versions for both cams.

I don't think that firmware of these two cameras identical. I talk about hardware installed in cameras, and their  similarity.

Heh. Have you seen a picture of these cameras? I would hardly call them "almost identical". In fact, the M is about the most different camera from the rest of the cameras supported by ML, it's actually not even in the same category of camera (i.e. it's a "mirrorless" camera not a "dslr" technically), it even has it's own unique lens mount. The difference is not just physical either. The M is probably the most different from the rest of the cameras in terms of internals and Canon and ML code (with the possible exception of the old VxWorks cameras, like 5Dc). There are quite a few special/unique exceptions for the M in ML code (obviously all cameras have their own unique things in the ML code base, but the M's things tend to be the most unique or non-standard compared to other cameras).

I am not a coder, but M has same CPU, Digic, CMOS chip, card interface as 650D. ML work mostly in LV mode on DSLR's, so mirror is most unnecessary thing in camera for ML. IMHO.

Yes, but it's not only a card speed issue, it's a different camera, one that costs 1/3 or 1/5 or there about by comparison. :P

EOS M is almoust identical to EOS 650D/700D. And these cameras can record MLV with almost same settings as 6D or 70D. Why EOS M can't?

To Licaon_Kter

May be you misunderstand me in some things. English is not my native language ,so I can't describe all widely. Google translate is not the answer. And I practice English only on forums like this.  :(

About Magic Zoom: image flickers in zoomed part.

About MLV record. I use my 6D and 70D to record mlv video. And bandwidh of SD card ~40 MB/S is quite usable for me. As I know EOS M has the same SD card  bandwidh. Why i can't record MLV with same settings as on 6D or 70D? Image is squeezeed vertically. May be i do some thing wrong?

I try FRSP again, and report about results.

About repair. Multicontroller(wheel+5 buttons) worked not good, i disassembled it to clean and accidentally broke ribbon cable. Needed detail shipped not so quick. On last week I install new parts and now camera work like a new.

There is developer of nightly for EOS M? Why progress is stopped?
Many things implemented in ML ports for 6D and 70D not work on M. What about recording in MLV? Why i can not record without squeezing by vertical?
Silent picture produces black images. Magic Zoom not work as it should.  My EOS M was broken for long time, and i use ML mostly on 6D. And now when i'm repair M and install ML fo it I lost a lot of the usual functionality. Very sad...  ::)

To developers: What about new features in ML for 6d 1.1.6? Audio features is still not implemented. Framing in MLV for 1824*xxx resolution is incorrect. Pressing Zoom button while recording MLV crashes the camera. Level indicator is green only in center, why?

или может кто подскажет какой программой можно перевести МЛ

For what reason do you need to translate ML in Russian or any other language?
Зачем переводить МЛ на Русский или любой другой язык? Большинство терминов не имеют нормальных аналогов в Русском языке. Меню и так отлично структурировано и интуитивно понятно.

Я тоже могу по Русски тут писать, but this is international forum. English language is acceptable for most of people from many countries. So use it if you want to got some help.

For those willing to test 1.1.6, here's a nightly-like .zip: download.

Please report the results of your testing in this thread. Thanks in advance!

As for ML itself, using those builds is at your own risk. I use those (and more unstable/testing ones) on a daily basis, but not for important work. You can always start your camera without ML by keeping SET pressed while turning it on. This also comes in handy dealing with April's fool jokes. If you experience any strange behaviour like freezing, crashes, stuff turning weird, the best way usually is to take the battery out and put it back in.

Here's the pull request. See also Canon 6D for general discussion.

Known problems:

I can help you in testing. I have 70D + 6D.  I mostly use them for video. H.264+ some times RAW.

Hey there,

I have another question concerning shooting in RAW.
I've read that the 70D output is throtteled down to 42mb/s. So it doesnt matter which SD card you're using, as long as it isnt under 42mb/s.
So when shooting raw @ 24fps the highest resolution you can choose is 1344x756? Am I right?

Thank you,
cheers,
Phengaris

If you talking about continuous recording you are right. But often 12-14 is enought for one shot. I'm shoot at 1824*776 fot 12-14 sec. If you need more rec time reducing resolution it's only way. Or buy camera with CF slot.

I Understand & Can Appreciate that ~ But ~ I think it should be the ShootersChoice ~ Not Canons Mandate ~

if you're experienced enough, why do you need P mode? But for beginners full auto P mode is good enough. IMHO.

I wouldn't mind if software enlargement was used to help fill the screen and get rid of the boarders.

Who don't let you enlarge it in post, by software?

The 70D only allows ISO Control for Videos if you are in Manual Mode ~ In All other Modes the ISO is Auto ~ Could that be your cause ~

I find this to be VeryAnnoying & Don't understand why Canon Chose to do that ~ Perhaps that could be the FirmwareUpgrade We SoDesire ~

Canon, Please give us the ability to Choose Manual or Auto ISO Control in AllModes ~

                                                                                                                  ORR ~ DeanB

I think iso is auto for jump less exposure changing. If we fixate  iso camera can change only shutter and iris. Iris is very slow and change boke, shutter speed changing will appear in different motion blur between frames and flickering in fluorescent light. So only one parameter that painlessly changeable is iso.

I don't know, but also the 5dmkIII at the beginning was like 6D, then with a firmware update canon has enabled the clean hdmi output .....

5d3 have true Full HD/1920 resolution from sensor, and can output it to HDMI point-by-point. 6D have only 1824 px directly from sensor, so if it output video to HDMI without software enlarging, video will have black framing.

didn't know about canon max resolution, but for sure 1824 in raw featured only in very latest builds, it was 1792 before that, we had year ago 1808, but later it was gone. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgQ2MOkAZTFHdFFIcFp1d0R5TzVPTVJXOEVyUndteGc#gid=5

Max resolurion is well known. 5472/3=1824. 5d2 and 5d3 have higher resolution because they have more Mpixel sensors.

Quote from: redlyon on April 15, 2015, 12:04:24 PM
the best would be to have clean HDMI output as well as for 5dmkiii, but I'm beginning to think that this will never happen...

Clean HDMI is impossible, because there is no Full HD source in camera.

All this IMHO.

We had 1792 max before, now it's 1824. Any chance get more horizontal resolution with less record timing?

We alwais had 1824, and Canon have only 1824 and then upscale it to 1920 and recorf in h/264 format. 1824 px is maximum resolution of sensor in 3*3 skip mode.

What about errors in MLV module? CF buffers and card spaning options is not removed in current nightly.  :( And if it's possible, please correct framing box for 1824 x *** resolution for RAW and MLV.

There is a possibility that audio menu will be done soon?
