General Help Q&A / Canon 6D and AETTR
July 19, 2014, 09:07:56 PM
I'm confused about aettr. I have it configured like so:

Triggrer mode: SET
slowest shutter: 32
exposure target -0.5EV
highlight ignore: 0.1%
midtone snr limit 6EV
shadow snr limit 2EV
link to dual iso ON ( but dual iso disabled )

I am doing my tests on night shots. When i press the set button the camera begins computing aettr and i get the message "Exposure limit reached". After this my camera's exposure compensation gets set to +5. If i do take a shot the image is offcourse way over exposed. looks like a way overexposed mid day photo in the bright sun. even the shadows are overexposed. What am i doing wrong ?

Also when i press the set buttn multiple times the exposure compensation is increased multiple times. it's like it's computing aettr from the current exposure compensation value. Is this normal ?

Is this normal? Am i doing something wrong ? Is it broken ?

Archived porting threads / beginner questions

Hi. I'd like to try out magic lantern on my 6d. I currently have firmware version 1.1.4 and my questions are:

What do i need to download from magic lantern ? The nightly build for canon 6d ?
From what i've seen on youtube i need to have version 1.1.2 and 1.1.3. How can i get those firmwares ?
Is there a recommended documentation i can follow while installing the firmware ?
What is the procedure to entirely and safely remove magic lantern from everywhere ?
I've read about a warning that you should not remove the card right after you open the card door but instead wait for the led to turn off. What happens if you accidentally do remove the card before the led turns off ?

Thanks !
