I believe there is already a program that does batch of Dual ISO video - What I'm looking for is the fastest workflow to process HDR RAW video (every other frame different exposure), ideally with a batch script, or without.

I have dropped frames set to "off," I just assumed if it was red or yellow at all I was dropping frames? If I enable debug instead of the logo, ill get a message something like "frame 86      100 expected" or something along those lines

Is it normal to drop frames for the first 5-10 seconds, and then have no problem with continuous 1920 x 1080 at 23.976? Cant for the life of me get it to work perfectly from the get go.....I've read this entire thread plus many others

Im running 1.2.3 with the the nightly from around a week ago.

I've read through tons of threads and can't find the answer to my problem. I have (what I believe to be) all the right settings on my 5D mkiii - Global Draw off, Noise reduction and all that mumbo jumbo off, and canon menu set to RAW. ML grayscale is enabled, small hacks Ive tried on or off with no effect, havent tried the memory hack yet as I really need to keep liveview to see what Im shooting. FPS override is 23.976 and Im trying to get continous 1920 x 1080

Right now with my lexar 1000x 64 GB the first 5-10 seconds will not be continous (MLV) or with raw_rec the first 5 seconds will drop frames. After that I get a solid continous OK no problem (aka the green logo)

Is this normal ? Is there anyway I can get my mkiii working so that i dont have to throw away the first 5-10 seconds of footage? Should I return my CF card for a replacement?

I have a ton of both HDR RAW and Dual ISO RAW video I need to process. Recently I started using MLV mystic for the Dual ISO stuff and Im very satisfied with this tool

Is there anything similar for HDR video (where ever other frame is a diff exposure?). I havent been able to find much at all on this forum about processing HDR video, really stuck here

General Help Q&A / Benchmarking - 5DMKIII
April 02, 2014, 11:21:11 AM
Bit confused on the best practices when card benchmarking.

Right now I have all the auto settings to off with GD also off. Photo is set to RAW in the canon menu's, and Im running standard 1920 x 1080 at 24p.

I havent done any special formatting on my card - just a canon menu format - using a brand new lexar 1000x 64GB

Currently with liveview disabled, I believe in "playback" mode, I get writes up to 119 MB/s

With liveview on and set to the movie setting (the little switch around the start/stop button) I get up to 92 MB/s (depending on buffer)

How does this compare to similar Lexar's? Will using diskpart on my win7 machine to set the type to exfat and buffer of 4096 improve these speeds? I seem to be OK with RAW for now but I'd like to get some GD features working......as reliably as possible

Anybody know when the refurbished MKIII's will be back in stock? Does Canon have any kind of regular interval where they update their stock?

Trying to get one for a bit less as with everyone else Im sure

Quick Question:

Whats the best workflow when Im working with a .RAW file from a ML 5D MKIII that was taken on HDR mode? Right now it looks like the wrapper option for ML HDR only works for .MOV files taken under H264?

I love that I can open all of these .raw's natively in premiere and AE but Im not sure what the best way to merge the HDR stuff is (ideally without batch converting everything into CDNG's or EXR)
