You can use the preset "Full-res LiveView" 5208x3230 in this crop_rec you can get 1 frame in mlv_lite 14-bit lossless sometimes you didn't get any frames (blank MLV) but if you use uncompressed 10-12-14 bit it will become more stable (3 frames in 10-bit). The problem and the solution here and Here.
I am using my own compiled crop_rec module, its updated with all alex new tweaks, I can record at that res too, but I dont feel its stable that high, it freezes randomly during recording, and I need preview to work, so the other bits will not work for me, 14bit and 14bit compressed work just fine with preview.

Not really having an issue with the module, just was adding that info in case it was useful since there seems to be some type of limiting factor.

While playing with resolutions on my 700D, I wanted to see why silent picture will not take a regular silent picture at these custom presets for Fullres LV in crop_rec.
 
Wanted to tweak with it because even though we can see the frame check preview at the higher res preset, you can't record it without it freezing.

So figured was easier to use regular silent pictures while adjusting.

Here are some configurations I did to see what the limit was trying both sides at max. These all take a silent picture, any higher on either side, just says preparing.
Not sure if this info is useful or not, but figured I would post since it seems there is some sort of limit factor of what we can actually record.

Also, this is max you can record in mlv-lite without it crashing after a few seconds.
And recording as I mean, setting to record while hold HS, so like pressing it quick to grab some frames after a few tries will crash any higher then what these dimensions equal.

Yeah, def not good for lightning, was just thinking that was pretty fast, which is pretty cool if it can be used for anything, maybe water drops possible.

Just good to know its correct and not just some false value.

I noticed while using crop_rec module with Full Res Live view preset, resized to 4464x2512 16:9 in the preset because anything higher freezes during recording, but anyway, while using this mode, since I can stay in regular mode and don't have to go to x5 mode, I get 6.527fps and I am able to adjust my shutter in ML to 12k down to 1/7 is this really 12k?

If I go into x5 mode, can only adjust to 1/11 down to 1/7.

I also noticed, if you try to set a shutter with ML it reverts back to canon shutter speeds when you goto x5 mode, press shutter button, or go back into ML menu.

So if I goto Full Res live view preset, then goto ML menu and switch to say a non canon value, like 12K, I see the screen get super dark, if I exit ML it holds until I either go back into ML menu or try to switch to x5 mode even though I don't need to in this mode, or if I press half shutter, it will then go to 1/30 again all by itself.

If I switch to the 12k and leave ML menu and go right to recording, it holds until I do any of the above.

Is this to be expected, or not normal with your new update for these shutter blanking registries?

Update! I just tested build before these new changes and I guess this is how it works as far as not holding ML shutter speeds anyways.

I see I def dont have 12k shutter speed though before these changes, so thats new for sure, but is it really that fast, it does get pretty dark?

Guess different on my 700D?
Also, I was getting an N/A for ML shutter Display until I changed the addresses for my camera, once I did, I get shutter value in ML again.
In movie mode 1080P nothing enabled in ML other then ADTG tool.
FPS Override off, everything default ML settings
They also only stay loaded in ADTG tool for a few seconds then gone until I restart camera.
The values are different in both images because on the 700D, the frame rate jumps around randomly 29.973 and 29.958, has always done this, so these values change with the frame rate jump.

Guess I didnt need to post all these images because I now see these values are only differ cause shutter speed was different, LOL!! OOOPS  :-[

x5 and x10 Mode in Movie Mode all resolution modes
In x5 or x10 mode, these registries don't vanish like they do while not in x5 or x10 mode, they stay in the ADTG tool and if I go back to non x5 or x10 mode, and come back to ADTG tool, these registries vanish after a few seconds until restart.

Yeah, that was my bad, I checked the 6D stubs and put in the DrvOut address instead of the write, sorry, why always good to double check thing.

That's great! Glad to hear!

Note, anyone looking at this for 700D, FullRes is not Fullres, it was a work in progress, can't get stable Fullres going in Crop_Rec for some reason like can in ADTG tool, so it is basically set to the highest possible working resolution.

mk11174 made a version of crop_rec.c with an 2K preset for the 6d.
:) Def didnt make it, just chopped it up so I can sort of understand what needed to go where, why most of the 5D3 stuff is missing, nothing was changing for me until I chopped it up and looked at what was left, then understood a tiny bit more what needed to go where to make the changes happen like they did in ADTG tool and now it works for 700D.

Was hoping it would help you get the 6D preset you wanted going, But Alex I guess is working on this for many of you, maybe best to wait for his update, you know it will be perfect as usual!

There were this lines that were hard coded though that should be changed for the 6D like I mentions in the PM, so prob try getting all those right first, maybe will work?

Doesn't seem to be either of them cause the whole exposure test finishes just fine if done by itself, just crashes cam if all tests are done with it. So guess there's no point in editing the exposure script.

The camera state must be changed in some way by the time it gets to the exposure test that makes it crash since it can pass just fine from a fresh cam restart.

UPDATE:
Well, I played with placement of Camera Exposure Test, if it is first in the list, all tests complete fine.
If it goes anywhere after IO test, it crashes with this.




UPDATE 2: It seems to be copy_test("autoexec.bin", "tmp.bin") inside IO test
Guess its just running out of memory to finish the other tests after it copies?

If I put all the tests back in the normal order and just comment out copy_test inside test_io test then that fixes everything.

Well, it wasnt the focus test that shut camera off, ran it again and as long as its wide open it always passes focus test now, just whatever test is after focus test, that one is shutting cam off and need to take battery out.


UPDATE: Good news for your 103 port, it does the exact same thing on 102, crash in same spot.

600D does not have the option for continuous focus like the 700D has

Weird, on this 2nd test, it never did the lens focus part.

Update: Got lens focus test to finish by changing zoom to wide open and it finished all focus movements, but the next test shut camera off and lost log results.

Trying the API_Test on 103 seems to be going on FOREVER doing the same thing on this Lens Moving test, light flashing away, but going so long battery almost dead, console showing same repeating text? Gonna give up I guess. Reset all camera settings and Formatted and set to continuous shooting also.

I can do that, I only noticed the focus conf fail, did not seem very important since I had lens cap on, seems to be ok to fail it, both tests came back same for both versions so I thought the main goal was to show 103 was good for merge, if both versions give same results, that should show it is good to go?

Look pretty much the same to me. Did you by any chance have the colorspace set to adobe? Reason I ask is because we had a similar situation happen with the 1200D. Note that the Stubs API test from the selftest module didn't complete.
Yes, Adobe RGB colorspace was set for this camera at time of testing.

Does that work in the current lua_fix experimental build?

Additionally, can you open ML submenus (e.g. options for Zebras or Magic Zoom) with the same build?

I tried this on both 1.02 and 1.03 and I get the exact same results, no problem with Format changing option with Q button in Live View or Without Live view.

As for ML submenus, these can be used only while in Photo Mode without Live View, once you turn on Live View or Moviemode, it seems like Q button no longer works with ML menus to get in the Submenus, BUT, the Play button seems to work as the Q button. So I can get in and out of Submenus with Play button and Q button in Photo Mode no Live View  and In Live View or Movie mode only Play button allows use of Submenus.

Yes, using it in Photomode, non live view will def work fine, but, when in Movie mode and Raw enabled somehow, its important to note, the module will cause memory error.

I normally start in Photomode myself, but wanted to point out to the other user about maybe why he was getting the malloc error in case he might have been using movie mode with MLV On.

Strangely enough, after this memory patch have been applied and i could continue recording with high bitrate.
I wanted to ask if is it possible to streamline usage of the hack (like add menu "apply saved SD clock values", or to avoid opening console), but since you retracted the module, i don't know whether you intend to explore this more. (And as far as i'm concerned i'm not giving this module back :D )

I only get memory error if I am in movie mode with MLV-Lite or MLV-REC turned ON, make sure these modules are off before you run this card speed module, once it is working, then ok to turn ON the MLV modules you want to use.

Obviously if you turn off camera, you will need to go through same procedure in same order again next time you turn camera on if you want the card speed boost.

Not sure if this memory error is normal, or how it was expected to work, but, thats when I get the memory error, if I do it in the right order, all is good.

Yeah, it is def not how it should behave, already made sure of that by downgrading back to 109 to be sure, and my other models do not behave that way, Display you def come back to the setting it was at, or by default, come back as On, you should not need to press Display button to bring it back everytime you restart camera and you should not have to wait either, 109 works fine, this version will to, once the issue is figured out.

Boo. OK, maybe these messages refer to the AF assist light from the external flash, rather than the front LED on the camera.
I do have an external flash with the red pattern flash like on Canon speedlight, its just not a Canon.

I tried it with that also, and nothing happens on camera or external flash, if that helps?
