check this out, it may help you if you want smooth video

Yes, Twixtor can make miracles come true. But the result depends very much of the scene you are filming. Foreground, Background. It works best if the background is smooth. If not it is difficult. Thank you for the beep trick. Every night we become more and more professional.

Anyone been naughty enough to record at lower rates and interpolate the frames in post?  ;D

Yes, I am naughty.
I record 1880X1058, 17 fps with my old 60 MB/s SanDisk.
Developed in Photoshop
Converted in Apple Compressor into 25 fps.
But I can not record audio or I do someting wrong?

Hint for the developers.
In the early days CF cards had built-in harddrives inside.

They were called microdrives.

If you open these devices maybe it helps to understand how things work.

Here are a few screenshots.  Overexposing does not help at all.

100% partial crop:

This is REALLY REALLY bad !! :(

In my opinion this has nothing to do with ML.
And it is not the kind of noise you could fix with noise reduction.
I think your sensor needs a mechanical calibration.
Canon service can do that for you.
If you donĀ“t have money for service you could try adding some noise by shooting with higher iso.
