General Help Q&A / Re: 50d H264 modes?
June 25, 2013, 08:27:47 PM
Is it possible to save 5x crop mode as H264? Then i can use one lens in two ways.

Every time is not necessary shoot in RAW mode or the card is too slow (small).

hahahaha......I do know how to solder ether......but I don't think is a good idea to spend all the time needed to make it work.......the adapter for 40 euros is a better solution for me........but oviously your solution is much more fun!!!

I think that's inside the box is a lm337 (lm338) or something similar.

If you know how to solder then the cheapest solution is the lm337 (if 1.5A is enough). You will need old battery, some resistors, capacitors and cooling radiator. Total cost of less than $ 5.

would be better to make a new topic to discuss this.

Raw Video / Re: Get rid of hot/stuck/... pixels

Maybe this will help:

Step 1 Detach the lens from your Canon camera and use the cap

Step 2 Turn your camera on. Go to the menu and select "Sensor cleaning" under the utilities menu.

Step 3 Turn the dial to select "Clean manually" under the sensor cleaning option.

Step 4 Turn the dial to select "OK" and then press the "Set" button. The mirror will lock up and the shutter will open. Allow the shutter to remain open for at least 30 seconds.

Step 5 Turn your camera off and reattach the lens. Take a few test shots to see if the problem has been corrected. In most cases the red or white pixel will no longer be a problem because your camera has been remapped

If it does not help the first time, then change the ISO settings and try again.

Weird, I looked it through and it doesn't frame skip here. There must be something wrong with your workflow or Vimeo/Youtube does something when re-encoding.

I think that skipping is because the program and camera is with different frame rates (like 24fps to 25fps or something like that).

Now think a bit logically. If you cover the sensor with shutter and mirror, then what will record the movement in front of the camera?

Live view off the camera records only the movement of the shutter button, even without the ML.

Hey Alex,

Got a no go for my 7d on motion detect w/o live view on :( Switching live view on works like a charm but not without.
