Thank you, onlypapai!

Thank you, PhilMW! I made Federico Surace, the VFX supervisor, go crazy with that transition... we worked online, so, everytime I asked him to change the transition one frame forward or back, he had to render, export and upload the file again. Thankfully, he's a very patient guy.

I know it doesn't look impressive, but it is, if you think that the young boy close-up is 150% zoomed in (to help the VFX) and heavily color graded!

BTW, this is the pilote episode of a web series that is also an online short film competition with very interesting prizes, I suggest you to take a look at the description of the video!

These are a few sequences in H264, RAW, RAW 3X Crop from macro 1:1.
I ran some tests to see how 3X Crop Mode can enhance macro shooting and I'm definitely amazed.

Ok, my poor memory strikes back. Thank you, guys!

Really? Maybe I'm confusing the MKIII ML firmware with the MKII one...

Long story short:

1- Canon firmware 1.1.3 + ML, everything was working fine.
2- Updated to Canon firmware 1.2.3 + ML, everything was working fine.
3- "Downgraded" to Canon firmware 1.1.3 + ML again and when I try to format the SD card, where ML is installed, I no longer have the "Keep ML" option.

I tried to push the "Q" button anyway, but nothing happens. Everything else seems to be working fine. Tried several ML builds, but it's always the same.

Any suggestion?

I'm currently using the Avisynth/VirtualDub workflow, but I'm not satisfied by the JPG quality.
Is there any way tho make VirtualDub export a TIFF or a higher quality JPG sequence?
Thank you!

Nice job! Really liked it.
Why did you shoot at 1880 x 800, is it not possible to shoot at 1920x817 with a 5D MKII?
She's very cute, btw.

I'd suggest looking for the 64gb 1000x card, it is faster according to most people and Komputerbay.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that. How many minutes can I record in FullHD raw with a 64GB card?

Wow.
Everything works fine shooting 1920 Raw with a 128 GB 1000x KomputerBay? No frame dropping at all?
I saw the difference in price compared to the Lexar and I'm wondering if the KB is good enough...
BTW, how long can you shoot in 1920 Raw with a 128 GB card?

Just a little vanity: we won the first prize!
Time for an equipment upgrade...

I had to check what "Australian SBS channel Euro flick" is, but now yes, I definitely take it as a compliment... thank you!
I'm just sorry all good subjects we came up with were too complicated to realize with only two actors and such a short time, so we had to settle for this story that's definitely not so intriguing, but I'm satisfied with the atmospheres we anyway menage to create, thanks also to the music composer, who did a very good job.
I hope I'll be able to use the raw recording for the next short, I didn't try it yet and I'm curious to see how it works... the editing and colour grading workflow will probably be much more complicated.

English subs.

Short movie written, shot and edited in 50 hours for the "Essi Girano 50H Film Festival".

Given theme: Serendipity
Elements to be included: a mathematical formula and a character with a tic.

I had a 5 people crew, me included.

Cameras:
Day scenes: 5D MKII 100 ISO (detail inside the car at 400 ISO)
Night scenes: 5D MKIII 640 and 800 ISO

I used Magic Lantern to have the cinescope crop marks, the manual audio levels on the 5D MK II, the 1/25 roller shutter speed for the night scenes and to reduce the codec compression (I chose the 1,5x option). I should have used the "ML ISO" too, but... in the rush, I forgot! Dialogues have been recorded with an external device.

Thank you, b4rt. ML made everything a lot easier, even with a very small equipment.
I'm just sorry the 7D ML version won't be ready for my next short...
