Better way to stream live video from any supported Canon camera via OBS or any other software with Syphon support is to use this project - https://github.com/v002/v002-Camera-Live

Reverse Engineering / Re: Front AF LED (PROP_LED_LIGHT)

Some ideas about how to use this LED: blink on clipping (for self mode shooting mode or something like that) or blink if flash card buffering warning is happening.

I have old version of this power bank with single power cord and I've made few adapters for my cameras:

You can create another layout with clean UI in ML and after than you should crop your captured image to remove black borders.

Will be awesome to have an option to remap two standard Canon IR signals (S and 2S) to custom functions, like magic zoom, start/stop video and focus (I known about standard functionality, but without photo capture before start recording it will be better)

As i known - SteadyXP uses audio channel to sync the movement data with video. Another idea - you can use custom app on your smartphone (gyroscopes, accelerometers) to record this data and then sync it in post somehow (sound, or trigger).

Reverse Engineering / Re: Reverse Engineering Picture Styles

Sorry for offtopic, but, is there any theoretical options to create a tool to convert LUT files to Canon Picture Style files?

General Chat / Reverse LUT effect
« on: September 05, 2016, 05:26:27 AM »
Hello! I'm trying to create Instagram filters LUTs in DaVinci. How i'm trying to do that: I have a color calibrating chart (XRite) and i shoot two images: normal one with proper white balance and filtered one (screenshot from the Instagram where the filter already applied on my first image). Next - i can create my custom LUT in DaVinci using second image and Color Matching function for my color calibrating chart in DaVinci. But problem is — this LUT is about to convert filtered colors back to normal, so, how i can create "reversed" LUT based on this one? Or maybe i can create proper LUT directly in DaVinci, how?

If you have any other ideas about how to create LUT for my case, let me known!
Thank you!

General Help Q&A / Black bar on external monitor
« on: September 05, 2015, 11:14:37 PM »
Guys, any suggestions about how to remove this black bar on top of the video frame?

My 6D connected to external monitor via HDMI and i've tried all layout modes (16x9, 16x10, 3x2 etc) and to disable everything info except bottom and top lines.
Everything looks good on camera screen, only on external one i have this bar.

Unfortunately the screen is off. Here is a screenshot of Blackmagic capture screen with M3 connected.

Guys, if you didn't known about that - very nice improvement in EOSM3: clean HDMI out! If you put your camera to manual focus to hide a focus box and switch layout mode with info button to clear the screen - you can get clean image without borders and gray frames. My setup includes hdmi2hdmi box, so, let me check it without this box today one more time just to be sure. I'm not sure about resolution too.

I known the answer for question about clean HDMI on camera other than 5DM3 ;) My question is more about idea.

Feature Requests / Global Draw performance
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:40:33 PM »
Developers, i have a question/idea for you.
What the maximum fps for global draw available? If you guys can scan full hd picture from sensor for RAW recording - how fast you can output this data on the screen? Is this possible? (theoretically, maybe with some limitations like less fps, less color depth etc.) or maybe you can use part of this data just to fill the missing parts of the image outside of the gray frame in live view to cover full image? Just curious about to get clean picture on hdmi out.

Right now i'm using ML to hide everything on the screen (focus frame, all info, etc) and then cropping black parts of the frame in my capture software and rescaling it to full hd.

That was 1 or 3 fps settings, what you can recommend for 6D?

22
@Licaon_Kter here is no workflow, movie recorded directly in camera using FPS override function.
@Levas no DNG available, this is a mov file from camera

23
Check this video first:

on the second half of the video (night time) you can check for hot/bright pixel overlay.
What is that and how to get rid of that?
I'm using latest build for 6D and FPS override setup with low light value.
I've checked this one year old topic already with no luck...
