I've saw a Video of a 5DIII which had a "Auto Exporamp" menupoint build right into the Intervalometer submenu. This is really awesome and I only read good about this function

The only thing I could find on my 60D (newest nightly installed) was the Auto exposure and the ettr modules. Is any of these capable of doing the job?

It's important that the exposure adaption just goes in one direction, either sunrise (getting brighter) or sunset (getting darker) and that there are as less as possible changes, cause every "jump" in exposure settings needs to be determined and controlled in post production.

A talented developer created an app named qDslrDashboard, which does exactly this. Having this build into ML would be awesome.

In a nutshell this app does control the exposure while timelapsing with a reference value and a average value. Basically you take a shot and it measures the brightness (I don't know how this happens and what unit that is) and sets a reference which is under (in case of a sunset) the image brightness. Let's say the brightness of the first shot is 110 and the reference was automatically set to 100. If the brightness falls under the reference the exposure settings will change in order to get a correct exposed image.

The point where this is different to other auto exposure possibilities i.e. aperture priority mode is that not the last frame but an average of a couple of frames are considered in relation to the reference. In case a bird is directly in front of your lens in one frame the exposure settings won't change (i guess the ettr and the autoexpo module would?).

In qDslrDashboard you can set:
-slowest shutter speed
-max ISO
-Direction (sunset / sunrise)
-adapting the reference
-increment steps (1/3, 1/2 or 1 EV)

When it's getting darker the shutter speed will constantly increase until the slowest shutter speed is set. After that the ISO will get changed. I'd also wish you could set that the ISO will be raised before the shutter speed and best would be to do it altering, like ISO raise, shutter speed raise, ISO raise and so on.

HUGE appreciation to any of you ML devs!

Would be nice to hear from you. Regards

PS: If theres any I could do, I'd like to collaborate!
