Silent Pictures don't seem to work properly with motion detection, though the docs seem to suggest it does. It's likely I'm doing something wrong, but I think it may be related to the LiveView being essentially paused until a long half-shutter press occurs. I think the motion detect module uses the LiveView to compare frames so it does take a single photo and then just stops after that. Any help appreciated, looking at the code now in silent.c and wondering if it is line 1162, in silent_pic_take_fullres() where PauseLiveView(); is called? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I'm using Magic Lantern FRSP (Full Resolution Silent Pictures) to scan 16mm film. I've found that using MLV I am able to more quickly trigger another photo (2-3 seconds) - whereas with DNG it has a longer turnaround (5-10 seconds). I am curious what the quality trade-offs are between the two - and any tips you might have on increasing my turnaround time between taking photos. Happy to answer any questions on my process if you're curious. And one other question - are Silent Pictures able to take advantage of sensor cropping? and if so - how do I go about it, hitting zoom and taking a photo seems to render the full frame in silent picture mode.

I was curious if picture styles, aside from changing the look on the liveview, actually influence the recorded video in RAW mode or if that is only something that matters with h.264 recording.

This is my second attempt at shooting in raw mode, appreciate any feedback. On 7D came to realize that exposing to the right is required if you don't want a ton of noise. Any feedback appreciated, just getting into shooting raw.

I have been shooting with the 7D in raw mode and also in crop mode at the same time, and it seems to crash very often. Have to remove the battery to get it to reset itself. The temperature readout got to 51 degrees, which seemed pretty hot to me.

The one thing I noticed was that if i go into crop mode, and then go into the ML menu and just exit back out, it seems not to crash and allowed me to shoot in crop mode. But if I don't do that it seems to consistently crash.
