Hey guys,
After some googling and reading the ML forum I still have the following issue:

Just bought a FEELWORLD F6 5.7inch IPS 1080P and want to use it as a field monitor for my canon 5dm3.
I am using the Canon Firmware Version 1.2.3 and latest magic lantern build for RAW recording.

Now I have the funny issue that the video signal always switches back to 480p after a few seconds on the monitor.
If I open up the canon menu on the camera HDMI signal switches to 1080i 50 hz.
When I go back to liveview the signal stays 1080 for a couple of seconds looks great and the goes back to 480p which is unusable...

I played around with mirroring on/off and video mode PAL/NTSC.
I managed to get a 1080 clean signal on the monitor but then I do not see any menus, histograms etc...

Are there any restrictions I need to be aware of?

Raw Video / Crop mode questions
October 07, 2016, 12:33:50 PM
Hey there,
I searched the forum but didn't find the answers yet. Altough I'm pretty sure they are in the depths of this forum.... Some help is appreciated  :)

  • Can I only go beyond 1920 resolution in cropped mode on the 5Dm3? I understand that in video mode canon only uses couple of pixels on the sensor to get the 1920 and in cropped mode ML uses more pixels (with manual selection?). As far as I understand this affects the focal length? So there is no way to film in 2k or higher using the original focal lenght of the lens? Is it possible to have the full frame in liveview?
  • If I hit the magnify button I get the 5x liveview in gray with shitty resolution. If I press and hold the star button it is in color with ok resolution while holding. In 10x it is fine again. Can someone explain this behaviour?

Sorry this crop mode still confuses me :)

Guys,

Can I have some opinions here? Here's a quick test movie filmed with a wideangle lens on the 5D.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2s5Zdqufgk4UWN5bkdUWFJPQzQ

I recorded this in RAW 25FPS and imported to Davinci Resolve. Used BMD mode Hunter 3D LUT.
I then exported to TIFF 8 bit image sequence and imported into Sony Vegas to export to MP4 (Sony AVC codec).
I specifically turned off any resampling features from Vegas.

However, if I look at the results, it just doesn't look fluent and very low FPS-like.
It this just me? Or is this just normal for 25 FPS? Can I record 30FPS in RAW, would this help?

Thanks guys
