Hi,

I'm currently testing the amazing dual iso module, hoping to spend less time and money in film developing (latitude!).

The first question in mind, which setting do you use or recommend for dynamic range and better tonal range. Do you prefer to take the second picture overexposed or underexposed? let say 100/800 or 800/100 ? I'm currently working with ACR and the process would be either recovering the shadows or recovering the highlights.

I'm looking for a natural film look rather than the extreme tone mapped HDR look, so I guess I'm not going for more than two or three stops difference.

What is your experience with ETTR + Dual ISO ? Can you recommend some settings ?

Thanks

Raw Video / black level repair on 5dmkII
April 23, 2014, 09:33:29 AM
Hi,

yesterday I was shooting a very important event with a MKII and a MKIII and I forgot to uncheck the "black level" option on the MKII. Now I have a pink footage on this camera.

Is there a way to repair the footage? I don't think this could be repaired with color grading.

Thanks

Raw Video / External Monitor without Overlays
April 20, 2014, 11:30:12 PM
Hi,

when I try to connect an external monitor recording in RAW, I cannot use the display overlays (like zebra, cropmarks, etc). My only two choices are:

The external monitor with overlays but black camera display or the external monitor and display on, but no overlays

It´s a limitation or I´m doing something wrong?

thanks!

Hi,

I deliberately overexposed a clip to see my post processing possibilities in Davinci Resolve and I can't nail the highlight recovery I get in Adobe Camera RAW.

I've tried different LUTs without success.

I'm using a 5D mk II

Here is what I mean

Duplicate Questions / Extreme Magenta Colour Cast
March 27, 2014, 02:43:05 PM
Hi,

I just installed Magic Lantern (nightly build) on a 5D mk II for shooting RAW
Experimenting with mlv_rec.mo and raw_rec.mo I'm a little frustrated trying to get decent colours
using davinci resolve 10.

For some reason, I always get extreme magenta tinted .dng when converting the .mlv files with MLVMystic.
BTW: It seems that the only software that handles .mvl files is MLVMystic. RAW Magic doesn't recognise any MLV file.

I can try to correct them in Resolve, but it's difficult given so a bad starting point.

Here is an example:
