Raw Video / Getting no sound with ML MLV?

I used to shoot Raw 1.0 on 5d3 and mostly it worked fine with occasional glitches such as freezes and stopped recordings.
Lately I tried MLV 2.0 and it seems to be much more reliable, offers metadata and seems better. However, I can not get the sound to work and I would very much appreciate if somebody who uses MLV raw to give me a couple of bullet points of what I should check to make sure I have everything ready to even be able to capture sound.
