Well he didn't say how he thought it got damaged. It was my own guess as it stopped working these two times after I used
the FPS Override Mode. Probably the repair cost was too high yes. But I do still think that's how it broke as it happened twice.
I remember the aperture started jumping back and forth between two settings and clicking loudly for a bit before it eventually became unusable. The lens is a Tamron macro lens AF 70 mm - 300 mm f/4-5.6 D on a 600D. No idea what ML version this was, it's a while ago, but I assume it's due to the specific mechanics of this lens in combination with FPS override and, should it indeed be caused by the FPS override, is probably a consistent thing throughout all ML versions and cameras.
