Camera-specific discussion / Re: Canon 70D (Beta-4a / 26th Oct)
« on: February 28, 2017, 10:33:08 PM »
please answer the question. I shot MLV by small files for 30 seconds. 40 minutes later the camera began to record video at a very low speed, about 6 megabytes instead of 38. I tried another card, which had the same low speed and there were no records on it. After 4 hours, I came home and tried again a record. The speed is normal again! As I understand it, is to protect it from overheating. Yes? How do I disable it?

ShootMeAlready, why you don't use special settings for zoom in the camera menu?

Gimmename, probably your 40 mb/s it's a fake. Do you tested this card on PC? I have Transcend class 10 x600 1 card and it writes at 38 mb/s

chrisfrancia,
"3. Should I shoot raw 1280x720 and then upscale to 1080?"
Yes, but you need to bear in mind that with 720p image will be cropped at the edges as well as the 1080p refer to 720p

"5. Bonus scenerio: would 1280x720 raw have less noise in a 720p export or would an h264 downscaled to 720p have less noise"
RAW-video has greater clarity and even increased 720 to 1080 look much better than if the record in 1080 at h264

All you need for this - big and fast SD-card

Answer, please. I have included only the modules mlv_rec and mlv_snd, enable MLV Sound on the Audio-tab, enable RAW Video (MLV) on the Movie-tab, but  where the sound is written when shooting video? The MLV unpacked I only see DNG-files

Remove SD-card and format it in your PC.

Please tell me, in this version of the ML is not the function Rack Focus? Or shooting stacks done differently? The firmware for the 1100d have a similar function.

Friends, I have a problem. If I shoot RAW-video with a resolution 1824 * 1026, in the frame fit the entire image. If I shoot RAW-video at a lower resolution, the frame and the picture will fall circumcision. Tell me how to set that at different resolutions in the frame breaks the same thing?

pkrskr, this feature is available even with the application EOS Remote. There you can control the focus directly from your phone

I bought my 70D in December 2013. When I install the ML does not happen anything. Offer to update the firmware, click OK, and then after a couple of seconds, I am on the same screen with the settings of photo-shooting

Tell me please, at what resolution 70d can shoot RAW-video for a long time? For example, 5 minutes. And can anyone make an approximate test quality at this resolution and FullHD on H264?

Hi! My 70D was purchased in December 2013. Its firmware 1.1.1. Can I try to install Magic Lantern at him and not kill it his? I'd like to participate in testing.
