Hi,

I don't know why, but today morning my camera has been acting strangely. I used last night, and LV was ok. Now, when i go to LV, and try to focus, it snaps the mirror, and focuses with the phase-detection system - then goes back to LV. The selected focus point (of the PD focus system) is drawn to the display.

What feature it is? How can i turn off? I could not find anything what i changed. I also had to reset ML settings, and no change :S

Thanks for any help :)

No, it says Motion level=0 even when moving the camera a lot. I am not able to get it to react at all

Is it solved since February?

Thx :)

Hi,

I have an 1100D, with an older, but working ML installed (v2.3NEXT).
I have tried the Motion Detect/Frame difference function to use it to trigger shooting when an object moves, but it does nothing. Exposure change and Steady hands modes are OK.

I want to ask that has someone using the Frame difference mode with an 1100D? From which version is it working?

Thanks for any help!

General Help Q&A / Re: 1100D Liveview focus mode
February 04, 2014, 06:44:08 PM
Hi, In the Delta menu, i have found that i have set the 3rd party flash in LV mode... (I had a flash some days ago, which wasn't full E-TTL compatible, and i tried this to make it work.) This setting caused that if i have pressed the shutter button halfway, the mirror came down, and the camera focused using the phase detecting AF.  :o I have turned it off, and the Live AF is working again  8)

Can this be a bug?

@dmilligan : My Live AF was set to Live Mode all the time. I haven't changed it. Now it is set to Live AF, but in Live mode, the mirror goes down when focusing. If it were the only problem that the wrong AF mode were set, i haven't asked here :D

Thanks for the help all of you  :)

Has anyone an another idea? The settings in the Canon menu are irrelevant, the Live AF doesn't work with any setting.

I have checked it before. The camera is using phase-detecting af, no matter which focus mode is set for Live AF. That's why it is strange.

General Help Q&A / 1100D Liveview focus mode
February 02, 2014, 09:25:03 PM
Hi,

I'm now learning to use ML, and i have found a strange issue.
I sometimes use Live View, and use the focusing in it. But since i have ML installed, the Live focus mode (contrast AF) doesn't work.
Usually i use the autofocus for night photography, and for checking, i zoom into the Live mode image. Now i cannot do this, only with MF.
The issue is that when i'm in Live mode, and press the shutter button, the mirror goes down, and the camera focuses using the phase-detecting AF mode.

I checked the ML menu, but is cannot figure out how to bring back the Live AF mode. Google haven't helped... Can somebody tell me?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi,

The FIR from the 2.3 and the files from the nightly build are working like a charm :) Thanks!

Should i leave the fir file on the card?

General Help Q&A / 1100D fir where?
January 24, 2014, 10:58:20 PM
Hi,

Sorry for dumb question, but i cannot move forward : i cannot find the right FIR file for my 1100D.
I have upgraded it for 1.0.5, but when i download the nightly ML build which supports 1100D, there isn't a FIR file in the package.

Where can i get it? Should i use it from an another ML release, or the original Canon?

Thanks for any help :)
