That's all I am getting from MLVFS. Empty Folders. Nothing inside them no matter what I seem to do or settings chosen.

What exactly is the problem with you using MLP? Care to elaborate and maybe we can help you down the pipeline? Have you at least checked out

CR2HDR Doesn't work with Dual ISO MLV files from the 5D Mark II. That is why I don't use it.

I deleted all my MLP Files but the link that wasn't working was the FFMpeg one. Regardless Im not going to bother with MLP because Im terrible at following instructions like that and having to manually assemble a working program. I'm seriously confused as to why there isn't just one big download with an installer for mlp.

MLVFS Would be great except when I get the browser menu started it doesnt show any files, and the mount doesn't actually do anything. Its completely empty. I've gone through the installation on my mac several times and it has never worked for me.

Ok now how the hell do I actually convert this?

MLP is waaaay too involved in all the downloading, and one of the links in the README file doesn't work.

MLVFS won't mount.

I dont have a PC to use any of the windows only converters.

How the hell do I actually convert 5dMkII dual Iso MLV files to something usable???

I'd love to use cr2hdr but it seems nobody updated it for the 5DMkII...

Raw Video Postprocessing / 5D Mark II Dual ISO Video

Hey everyone!

I remember a while ago before I had access to a 5D Mark II there was a thread where the 5D Mark II was hacked to be able to shoot Dual ISO raw video like the 5D Mark III. Where has that thread gone or has it ker-sploded because it wasn't reliable?

Searched the forums. Thanks for the help!

Hey everyone!

I made this video for the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation, and I shot everything with MLRaw. Can I get some critique on it?

@Markodarko: The aspect ratio is the same as panavision Ultra-70. That's what I meant by that :D

@ddelreal: No I shot without using crop mode. I still got moire but only in one shot that I didn't end up using because it was permanently stuck at green cast. The only shot that was cropped was the over the shoulder across the field.

There was a female veteran in the audience who came up to our group and said it was really well done. Hit hard to be honest.

@Roberto: I wouldn't bother. My canon 7D I have had since 2011, and used it for soooooo much stuff. Its a great camera, but I am holding out for when Black magic fixes the magenta issue on the 4.6k ursa mini, and it comes down in price, or buying the GH5 if it turns out to be fantastic. I hope it is.

@_OLLE_: An anamorphic lens is not spherical, meaning it takes in a wider FOV horizontally than it does vertically. 2x merely tells how much that ratio is (in this case, 2:1). The final aspect ratio came out to 2.768, almost a perfect match for ultra panavision 70, the same aspect ratio used on Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia.. I am glad you all liked it.

We had so many problems doing this. All the audio was crap so I had to redo it all. Our director left right after casting the actors, and our producer did nothing at all. We re-wrote the original script 4 times to work with what we had, and people purposefully screwed us over on locations we had asked to use. Im amazed we got it done at all.

This was a video I did the cinematography with. I shot at:

2x anamorphic
canon 7D
Komputerbay 1000x cards (32 and 64gig)
edited in Ppro and color corrected in Resolve 12.5

I have a 7D. Gimme something to test bruh.

I'm going to ask what I know everyone wants to ask but is too afraid to do so.

Does this increase the possibility that other cameras will also be able to shoot dual iso raw video? (7D??? :D)

Ignore this if u think this is a troll post :'<

Feature Requests / Audio to metadata clip markers?
« on: June 19, 2015, 06:43:30 AM »
Would it be possible to before each clip starts, during like a four second warm up, you can yell the slate (scene, cut, camera, take), have that audio be transposed in to metadata, that in post you can search for?

I dunno I just thought it would be a nice way to ad use to the mic besides scratch audio.

Raw Video / Double same frames???
« on: June 13, 2015, 07:21:23 AM »
Hey guys. So apparently my Canon 7D shooting ML Raw on my komputerbay 64 gig cards causes my camera to, on every frame rate setting, cause double frames about every 20 frames. I mean, two frames are exactly the same. Has anybody else ever had this problem?

It doesnt seem to happen on ONE of my 32 gig komputerbay cards...

General Development / Re: Linux on your Canon DSLR? Why not?
« on: April 02, 2015, 07:11:15 AM »
So I don't mean to be a troll buuuuuuuuuttt....

With this, the canon DSLRs can be recoded from the ground up to do what we want?

But seriously, does this mean smoother operation, and one thing which I am super wondering about, raw video via HDMI for recording, or use it to help supplement raw to CF? Like recording part of it on a CF card or SD card and then the other part of HDMI for max output?

Hardware and Accessories / Smartphone: Anamorphic preview for ML?
« on: March 09, 2015, 08:08:13 PM »
So the anamorphic preview for ML I believe causes tearing issues for me (the whole preview thing :P) and I want an external monitor so I don't need to worry about that. Does anybody know of any apps that can convert the signal to anamorphic? I can't find any.

Duplicate Questions / Suggestion for Anamorphic shooting
« on: February 07, 2015, 04:05:59 AM »
Hi there. I don't post all that often, but I think this would actually be a good idea. Lord help me if this has already been asked. Searched, found nothing.

So, for the anamorphic 2x display (only one I use) I have a hard time focusing, and the magic zoom focus is, no offense, really bad at focus assists.

What I end up doing half the time is being in the ML overlay, with the anamorphic compensation, crop marks, and what not, then having to scrub through the info button, going to 10x magnification to focus properly, then scrubbing through again, so i can have the crop marks and compensation, to frame my shot, and then start shooting.

To me this is very tedious, and sometimes waiting for the camera to actually start RAW recording really ends up irritating me.

Before you admins tell me I should code this, I have 0 coding experience. I suck at coding.

My request is something like this: I can have my overlays and everything set up, but if I half click the shutter button, all overlays are removed while it is depressed (including disabling the anamorphic compensation), and immediately goes to 10x zoom for focusing. then i release, and everything is back to my custom overlay preference.. This would aid GREATLY as I dont have anywhere NEAR the money for one of those overpriced monitors that can do the 2x squeeze itself.

I hope someone here on the forums could do this. Cuz that would be amazing-sauce.

General Chat / Re: Premiere 7.1 Pink Issue
« on: January 26, 2015, 10:13:53 PM »
FOUND A FIX: Just wanted to post this here, I think I discovered how to fix it with the 30 dollar RawMagic MLV->CDNG converter.

Set white balance to auto (simple)

Black to the highest value

I have a canon 7D, but I set the camera option to the 5D Mark 3 (THIS IS WHAT SEEMS TO HAVE MADE THE DIFFERENCE!)

16 Bit

Convert and import, no pink cast and all the d-lish goodness of raw video, and it works with speedgrade! :D

General Chat / 7D mark II Raw video capabilities
« on: November 03, 2014, 09:36:46 PM »
Now I was just looking at the canon 7D mark 2 and saw that it had an increase in the buffer size, notably it can shoot 10fps at 20mp rather than the original 7D's 7 fps and 18mp.

From it states that the image buffer has increased from 25 full res raw photos to 31 full res raw.

I am a bit interested in this, because if it turns out to be even more amazing for raw video, I might just sell my old 7D to get this new one.

It still has the dual digic processor, and the ISO improvements are laughable (still pales in comparison to the 5d mk3) it will at least be as good as the 70D, which it takes many of it's improvements from.

The main thing here is that it looks to be capable of shooting at a constant 30p at 1080p like the 5dmk3, maybe even more (resolution wise, possibly FPS).

Just my thoughts. I didn't see a thread like this elsewhere on the forums.

btw im not a programmer so if I have any faults in logic here please edit this.

Raw Video Postprocessing / MLV to CDNG Mac?
« on: June 20, 2014, 08:00:37 PM »
PPro 2014 apparently now has support for CinemaDNG. Is there any program that converts straight from MLV to CinemaDNG on a mac?

I'd just like to say that if it weren't for 1% I wouldn't have done half the videos I have made in the past 5 months. I know that porting things to all these different cameras can take a lot, but the time it took to get back to the 7D, a huuuuuuugely popular camera, was kind of annoying. I know you are all working for free and whatnot, and I am using this for free, but the 7D was just too popular for it to go unmaintained. Oh well, thanks for all you did 1%!
