Thanks SOO much! That scared me!

Format card using cardreader.
Format card using cam.
Copy Canon's firmware 1.1.3 to card.
Run firmware update from canon's menu.
Delete Canon's FIR from card.
Copy extracted nightly build content (for firmware 1.1.3) to card's root.
Run firmware upgrade.

I understand that, where do I get 113 from?? The one that comes in the download is modified right? As it does not seem to work.

Please help!!! I have been trying to downgrade back to 1.1.3 but when I try to, with the ML-6D113.FIR in the nightly zip, my camera briefly says loading with the gray screen, then goes black and the LED flashes! How do I get back to 1.1.3?

When initially trying to downgrade back to 1.1.3 i literally had to uninstall ML 1.1.6 to even be able to get 113 on my card!

HELP, i'm stuck on 1.1.6 with no ML

I haven't had a chance to fiddle with other setting like the ISO or auto ettr but it seems quite usefull, just wish id tried this last friday! lol

  I was playing around with my flash (Metz 58 AF-2) today and as I was playing around with HSS! Long story short, was set to 1/180 and turned flash off, then set camera to 1/4000 and turned flash back on and it works with F18 and below with Auto ISO! Anyone else able to do this on other cameras and flashes?

I am very curious about the audio features on 6D 113. Why is there so little audio support/features on the 6D? All that shows on mine is MLV sound in the ML menu under audio! Is that right?
Edit: Nobody have a clue? just that my 60D has all kinds of audio features but the 6D seems sooo limited for being as powerful as it is!!

I wonder does the 5dmiii have this same issue? As when I bought it, I remember seeing some pamphlet in there that was describing the features as being similar but only some of the features were available for 6D! I know they are different cams completely, just thinking there might be something on the 5d that might help.

Got my 6d delivered but had to send it back immediately cause battery and battery door cover were missing. 6D had been sold as almost new to me but looked like crap when it arrived. hopes were high. price was to good to believe. Got my money back now and looking for another used one as I cannot spend money for a new one. Have to spend what i got from selling my Nikon D7000 equipment.

unless you have your heart set on that specific one B&H has a few nice 7D's and 5D2's at a great bargain..If i can sell my 60D or my NX2000 i might grab one!

Compiling "ML" for the Compile challenged!!???  Or an Idiots tutorial...lol

Source code compiles cleanly now if you disable FEATURE_FPS_OVERRIDE (which is broken, to my knowledge - https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/issue/1975/6d-fps-override-creating-mangled-colors ). You will also need to comment out FRAME_SHUTTER_BLANKING_WRITE in consts.h.

Before resuming the nightly builds, I would like somebody to compile the code, run the stubs test (Debug menu), and post a screenshot of the Free Memory dialog. And, of course, some general checking to make sure the port is not totally broken.

If nobody volunteers to fix FPS override in the next two weeks, I'll resume the nightly builds without this feature.

Like I said before I know almost nothing about programming!! If you or someone can set up the files in whatever way (commenting out?) and allow me to download them, also provided someone can remind me the command process to compile it I will run whatever tests you need on my 6D! or If someone can compile it for me, even better!!!!!

I dont know what is I am missing.
1. There is no such build with the name of Date: 2014-05-21 18:37:47 -0400.
2. I looked very heard and didnt found any build with extension of -0400, sorry.
3. Closest and latest build I have downloaded Date: 2014-05-22 04:37:47 +0600 and Date: 2014-05-21 04:37:48 +0600. I have tried both.
4. I followed the steps as a1ex wrote in the beginning of this post.
a) format my card in my camera
b) insert card in my Mac.
c) Copied all the files (2 files+1 folder) from the build.
d) inserted the card into my camera
e) update firmware. Green menu as a1ex shown apperad on the screen. wait for 30 secs according to the screen instruction
f) restart camera
g) hit the trash button.

Nothing happened.

I have tried with both the builds. But it was same result all the time.

Am I doing something wrong?

My card : scan disk extreme 45MB/s, class 10 , 32 GB
My laptop : MacPro
Camera : 6D

Please help me I need to be success to install this.

are you sure your selecting 6D from the dropdown? but just in case, you know where you said you ran firmware update and then waited 30 secs!? if you wait those 30 sec, it uninstalls ML!! WHEN IT SAYS UPDATE COMPLETE AND YOU SEE COUNTDOWN, REBOOT AND SEE IF THAT WORKS!!

Is it true that I can't shoot 1920x1080 in raw?

Apparently so.. I believe this is due to the write speeds to cards is capped at around 40-50 mbs on the 6D! If they put CF cards instead of sd...no problem

Very sorry if this is answered somewhere else, I just can't find the answer anywhere, I have searched all over these forums and Google in general, it's regarding mlv_play. Everywhere I read I find to view RAW video files in camera I need to load the MLV_Play module, but I can't find it in the build I'm using. Even under the forum post "Canon 6D raw preview on DSLR", someone advises to find that module and turn it on, and the other user thanks them for the advice, he doesn't say he can't find it.
I'm using the nightly build from May 22, "magiclantern-Nightly.2014May22.6D113" the modules that I do list are -

I finally got around to playing the raw video functions and having issues as well as not being able to find mlv_play Module anywhere, did this become unstable and get removed?

There is no such build that you have mentioned. Only build I have found close to your date for 6D.113 is
Date: 2014-05-21 04:37:47 +0600.

Am I missing something important. Please help.

then your not looking hard enough that was copied directly from the page!!! When I click show older builds, reading down the list Date: 2014-05-21 18:37:47 -0400 is the last stable build for the 6D!! But when you download it the file will say its from may 22 magiclantern-Nightly.2014May22.6D113.zip

after you click the button...it will say build failed...first button on right says show older builds, Just keep hitting that until you find a build that did not fail... which will be Date: 2014-05-21 18:37:47 -0400  which i have been running without issue!

Afraid I know little about the development of this kind of project, but is there an emulator for the Dev-Kit? Or is that not something that can be done or is it unnecessary or something someone would have to build themselves from scratch?

You did not install ML. Please follow the instructions from the first post of this thread.

@moderators: please remove the references to old install guides, because they only serve to create confusion.

So we no longer need that long drawn out TL install process? and it will make the card bootable? that's sweet ok...I will mod my posts to reflect

I posted the following over on the 6D - Install guide and Raw Shooting thread, just thought I would post it here to, with the added question, will the special updater file to dump the firmware, dump a copy of v1.1.4 of the firmware that I have on my new camera so that I can re-install that version if I start playing with ML on v1.1.3?

Also, although my time is rather limited at the moment, I would be happy to help out with development of ML for the 6D.

Anyway, here was my post on the other thread just for background (rather than re-typing).

Over the week end I got my new Canon 6D, lovely camera, and a nice upgrade from my 60D with it's Full Frame sensor.

Now I love Magic Lantern on my 60D, I use it mainly for the Intervalometer, and advanced bulb timer etc for time lapse photography.

I was hoping to put ML onto my 6D, and looking at the instructions you need to downgrade the firmware to v1.1.2 first, which I have no problem with, except that my Camera has come with v1.1.4 of the 6D firmware.  From my searching it appears that v1.1.4 has yet to be released by Canon, I have been unable to located that version of the firmware anywhere to download, so I am a little reluctant to downgrade to v1.1.2, since I will then not be able to go back to v1.1.4 until it is released officially.

So does anyone know how to backup the existing firmware, and also if ML will work with version 1.1.4?

I was reading somewhere about the 1.1.4 firmware upgrade and there didn't seem to be any real changes other than removal of third party battery support! So you can only use official canon batteries! So i don't think anyone here is bothering with it yet!
oops actually i may be wrong there, possibly only a rumor!

Are you sure?  Is this specific to the 6D?  On my 5D3, when correctly loaded, the raw video option is shown in the menu, with help text that states it only works in movie mode.

ok i am on my 6D now, magiclantern-Nightly.2014May22.6D113..in photo mode, on the movie tab...and I have 2 options for raw...are your Raw modules turned on, mlv_rec and raw_rec? and yes they should show in the ML menu regardless of mode!

I'm pressing the Trash Can button to open the ML menu. I selected the ML Movie menu. Then I selected Movie Tweaks. The RAW feature does not appear. Yes, I installed the module and rebooted the camera.

They show in the main list not in movie tweaks! Should be the 2 just above tweaks.

When you installed the nightly, did you copy and overwrite the files or did you delete all the ML files then copy over nightly files? What is on your SD card?
Also what tutorial did you use to do the first, initial ML install?

I have install build 2014-05-21 17:37:47 0500 as per your instructions. Under the ML Movie menu I do not a Raw item.

are you hitting the trash can to access this menu or the menu button? also did you enable the module first then reboot as well?

  I can also test future builds and whatnot if needed for 6D...if there are any Devs in MD hit me up!

I know nothing about compiling but I have a 6D and am willing to do the tests if someone can provide the compiled version!

Wait does this mean the missing "Stubs" for the 6D are now found? Will it be added back into the nightly builds again? Love you guys!
