And I remember doing some tests, using peaking. Then going to 10x LV to check the peaking accuracy and I could get it a hair sharper in zoom mode. Did you change the peaking tolerance? I remember there is a percentage setting or something like that.

Hey there, thats good to hear. Glad the client was happy!
I am surprised and happy to hear that the focus peaking worked that well. I had trouble trusting it. I love my manual lenses but resort to the old zoom x5 x10 method but of course you move the camera when looking at zoom in LV. Switch back to VF and your focus could change with a thin DOF. An annoying chicken head movement is required!!

Forgot to add that exposing to the right as a rule would start to push you over optimum exposure.

Raw to a lesser extent I suppose but I think it is still an issue to consider.

On this subject, I have come across some things that may change my current practice a little.

Sian storm, a pro colorist over at colorghear.com  talks about his zone system of optimum exposure being within + or - 2 stops. A 4 stop range, a lot smaller than we think our cameras have. This is due to the h.264 codec used by dslrs. Anything above or below the 4 stop range is where the inherent problems with h.264 encoding start to appear.

Would love to hear other people opinion on this.!

Thanks a lot. Much appreciated!

Ok I found someone saying some autoexec.bins were causing every other frame to be pure white. I think this was before the raw mods were here.
This was at certain fps override values under 4 I think.

Does anyone know if you can just dump different autoexec.bins onto your cards (overwright) and mix and match old modules with new?

hello guys and gals,

anyone have this issue? i am doing timelapses using raw video and fps. 1880 highest raw video and 0.5fps override.

using raw2dng to extract............ every other dng frame is the first frame!
I export in after effects
I import to premiere and it flickers like a crazed maniac , I do 200percent speed to cut out every other frame and it runs just fine.

funny thing is sometimes its the even frames, sometime the odd frames  (sometimes you have to trim 1 frame before 200percenting or its a static picture.)

i got what i thought was the latest built a week or so ago. (5dmkii)

this method works but its double the size with all these 'first frame' extras and a pain in the ***!

thanks.
