hello all,
I am a long time user of magic lantern. was shooting a lot over the last year with the 1.1.3 version of raw.
now I updated to 1.2.3 and everything looked fine so far.
today I rigged the markIII with my tv-logic58 monitor via hdmi for the first time. all tests before were done without the use of the hdmi-out.
it is now not possible to record longer clips than 1min in mlv 1920:1080 25p mode. icon always stays red or yellow. the build is from 16th of july.
as soon as I disconnect the hdmi everything goes green and fine! what does the performance have to do with the hdmi out?
did I set up something wrong somewhere? checked everything, can`t think of anything?!?
thank you so much for every help! i have an upcoming job tomorrow and if I don`t find a solution I have to shoot in h264;-(

next step was a total reset of the camera including magic lantern build 07.16.2014. supposedly stable.
same problem, no clips longer than 1min, though camera icon turns green now, before it stops due to frame skipping.
am clueless!!
only thing I can think of right now is that my new monitor, the TVLogic 58 needs more process power than my old one the TVLogic 56. Is that possible?

Am I right here in this forum by the way?!?

short update of my odyssey. as stated before everything went smooth so far.
cf card exfated.
one new thing though happened. on one set up the cf card went full clip ran out. was bigger than 4gb, so we have the two roo and the raw file, but also a raw back up file on the card.
both, the raw file and also the backup raw file I am not able to raw2dng. it`s always just the log.exe and nothing more.
is there a special order how to develop them or are the files lost because the card was full?!
so far, only one file corrupt in the end. shot over 300gb of footage, all looks nice! only thing I noticed so far is the heavy shuttering in 25p with faster motion...looking forward to any answers!
cheers tobi

General Help Q&A / Re: corrupt RAW files on cf card
July 01, 2013, 08:45:53 AM
Hello all,
thanks for the quick answer! After I gained consciousness again and read the thread of combining over 4GB clips I very successful used HexFiend.
Do you by chance have a tip how to "ExFat" my CF card the way it needs to be to not go this painful road again?
Last question, is there already a default to get a clear monitor screen, without all the buffer infos? Was sometimes quite hard for framing and focusing!
I really appreciate your support.
Keep on shooting RAW! It`s fun!

General Help Q&A / corrupt RAW files on cf card
June 30, 2013, 01:37:46 PM
Hi there,
I am a constant follower of magic lantern and tried RAW this weekend on a job.
On the first two set ups all went fine. Downloaded footage and everyone was happy. It`s really amazing what the 5D MarkIII is capable of in magic lanterns RAW modus. Thanks for your great work.
The following setups shooting was all the same, workflow was all the same but on my the lexar1000 card suddenly the RAW folders where safed like:
M29-1444.R00
M29-1444.RAW
Both have the same size and both cannot be opened with RAW2DNG. Only thing which develops is a log.txt which is empty.
I am in shock because a lot of footage is missing right now. Is there a fix or a work around any one knows of. Am I the first who happens that to?
Please help!
