Hi guys,
just buyed today a 5d mkiii. I'm already using ml with 60d and 6d. i've read all i found about 5d mkiii ml development, and as i understood there's no safe way to disable bootflag from the camera and with the bootflag the camera needs seconds to switch on. correct?
So the first post on this thread suggest to use the "non autoboot" way, updating the firmware every time, or try at your own risk the developer version, hoping that sometimes in the future will be possible to disable the boot flag on the camera.
I've tried the alpha3 version. It works, but cannot see the most of magic lantern things (that's probably what is in the alpha3). So my question is, the only way to shoot raw, to use timelapse functions etc, is to use the developer firmware updater (enabling the boot flag) and using the nightly build?
Or is possible to have access to those functions also with the non-developer fir and doing every time the fir install procedure?
i've tried to put the files of the nightly in the same card of the FIR, but magic lantern still display only the alpha3 voices of menu.

thank you guys :)

any help?

This is a great news!
There is also a way to control the rec button (remote)?
Video output (rca) can be used as a video assist during shooting?
Thanks

I think you can set recording to start with half shutter, which is remotely triggerable.

Do you have an idea how this can be set (from ML Menu or Canon Menu)?

Here's a music video I shot with the RAW module.

Very nice!
Do you wanted that cyan magenta look specially or it is from Resolve?
Best regards

@ kahl
In my opinion your workflow is something like the basic "telecine" concept from commercials
Colorisation was done BEFORE editing...
For the  new generation of "digital cinematographers"  this concept "telecine" is maybe stupid but is used even today
However, 99 percentage of our work is in 8 bit teritory
The raw files from Canon DSRL raw are like kodak or Fuji frames in my analogy
If I'm wrong please correct me...

You can also open the DNG-files as a sequence in After Effects. Doing this, also opens up the Adobe Camera Raw, so that you can make all the adjustments.

When editing you video in Adobe Premiere, I suggest exporting the DNG-sequence to PSD-files. For these support 16 bit and Premiere can natively open them as psd-Sequence (in 16bit!).

You've  noticed the difference between editing in Premiere from psd 16 bit once and jpeg 8 bit on the other hand if you tried?
The is no Prores export option from AE in Windows?

@Julian
Hi Julian
May you tell here how is possible ( in 28 build, 50d, M (manual) mode) to have in the LCD the ACTUAL exposure?
I have always a kind of constant exposure in LCD whatever the shutter, iso or T stop i set.
Regards and go 50d!

The joiner will only see the xxx.001 file.  If you selected it will join the two files xx.001 and .002

You will have to rename the joint file to file.raw for it to be processed by Raw2dng

Hi
I've followed Renato steps and worked.
However the dng files from the final big raw file that came from .002 original file seems to be corrupt. files from .001
original file is ok.
(If i'm  trying to preview with adobe dng viewer the color is perverted to false colors)
Any help

Hi
I have installed May  28th build , on Canon 50d and shot 2 giga Raw files
However raw2dng.exe converter don't want to convert my RAW files (crush)
Do you know if the size of 2 giga is to  big for converting raw to dng?
