This hasn't been updated in a while, just wondering what the state of research is here. Maybe I can pick up some slack. I have a handful of 7DMKI bodies and 5DII.
Sounds like this is possibly leading in the direction of getting full 1920 width on HDMI output (instead of 1650 with black bars)?
...and also possibly 4:4:4 instead of 4:2:2?
Any further conclusions, progress, or did you conclude there isn't really a hot lead here?
My use-case is just external streaming/recorders over HDMI...so I am more interested in HDMI output res than in-camera recording.
