Thanks nikfreak and others for showing audio levels working OK.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled ML and now my audio is perfect. I have no idea why a mismatch was happening with my original installation several days ago. I can not even replicate the mismatch as no matter what I do audio levels work perfectly now.

Ok all, lets take a deep breath, professionala and enthusiasts alike.

Thanks to the dedication of unpaid people such as nikfreak and others, ML has taken Canon DSLR's from an being an inadequate filmmaking tool to a pretty good filmmaking tool. Everyone can enjoy and explore the RAW capabilities but lets also keep an eye on fundamental features that are currently not right such as Audio. Pretty much everything else is working extremely well in Beta 1. I have been testing it for five days.

Posted this twice and no response, just more endless fixation with RAW on this forum. Audio is a problem that really does need attention.

ML audio meters are showing much lower readings than the Canon meters. Using the Canon AGC mode as a test, the Canon meters run high into the yellow (-12db and above) but the ML meters dont match this and show very low readings. The same big mismatch happens in non AGC mode.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, great work to all concerned bringing Beta 1 to the 70d.

What is planned in the build for audio. At the moment there is no ML audio menu and the ML audio meters are showing much lower readings than the Canon meters. This can be seen especially in AGC mode where the Canon meters run high into the yellow (-12db) but the ML meters dont match this.

Thanks Walter

My post was less to do with the temperature readout and its accuracy but more to do with the fact the the camera was getting hotter in my hand just going through ML menus for a 5 minute period, no images or video were shot. This does not happen with a non ML card while working with the camera for a 5 minute period. Its worth getting feedback on this from others who are testing the Alpha1.

Thanks for the Alpha1, well done so far.

Installation OK but noticed processor temperature rising steadily while interfacing with ML menus (not recording video). I switched off camera as it became hot at 75 degrees. I then installed a card without ML after cool down and worked with the camera for a while without the same temp rise as before. Anyone noticing the same issue?

Functions are OK as per last full list posted but will continue checking.
