Duplicate Questions / Mark 3 won't save RAW settings?
August 06, 2014, 06:34:25 AM
Hi guys I could surely use your help. I have a shoot tomorrow and plan on shooting 48fps, 2:35 aspect ratio. I notice my settings restore to default every time I turn off the camera. For example, my fps override, Camera raw enabled button, aspect ratio are no longer selected. Is there any way I can save those settings so every time I turn off/on my camera I do not have to waste time by readjusting all of my preferences? Looking for solutions or other threads last minute, appreciate your guys advice, thanks!

Raw Video / Does Raw work on steadicam monitor?
April 13, 2014, 07:11:28 PM
Hi guys. I plan on shooting a steadicam shot with my canon 5D mark 3 using magic lantern Raw. My only concern is will my steadicam op be able to output and view on his steadicam monitor while following our subject? I heard if you try to output to an external with raw there will be dropped frames and you will have problems. Please let me know if it is feasible and if there are any suggestions to help solve my problem that would be great, thanks!

Can someone please help me? I just deleted the files in my settings folder. Now I cannot seem to find the M section on my menu or enable camera Raw when I turn it on. Thanks

Hi I just did that. And now the icon M on the far right of the magic lantern screen is no longer there.

Hi guys. I let my friend use my camera w/ magic lantern. He shot using anamorphic and ever since then, every time I turn my camera on, the anamorphic option is automatically turned on. Is there any way I can turn that off, or save my current settings to when I turn the camera on, every thing was the same last time I used it? Please let me know if you guys have been experiencing this issue and if you know the solution, thanks!

Raw Video / Re: Slow Motion on Canon Mark 3 Raw

@JLROYAL42- I just stretch the clip how you would normally in FCPX, just click and drag. But only stretch vertically.

@Midphase- Hey, where do I find the settings for mb/sec? and What should they be at to get continuous recording @60p 1920x508? Thanks

@NedB- I select camera Raw option on, Then Q to change resolution settings to 1920. Since the aspect ratio settings is at 2:35, ML automatically puts it in 1920x508, then I stretch it to 1920x818 in post.

Raw Video / Slow Motion on Canon Mark 3 Raw
January 26, 2014, 07:55:14 PM
Hi guys, I'm having trouble with shooting 60p with my 64GB Lexar 1000x card. Is it normal to shoot only 5 seconds most before it cuts out using 1920x508? I'm shooting with the 2:35 aspect ratio.

Would you guys have any other suggestions for slow motion using magic lantern raw? I need it for shooting music videos and always slow down the B-roll. If anyone has suggestions, please feel free to give me some advice, thanks! :)

I have a question regarding color grading in Lightroom. Say I color grade my sequence and bounce it as a .mov file. Can I go back ever if I do not like the grade, or should i just fix this problem in fcpx? Also, what do you suggest I do to grade all clips the same and keep them cohesive. IE: I go back to fix a clip I did not like the grade on, so I want to change the rest of the clips as well. Should I just make sure the first clip I grade is the right grade, so I don't have to keep going back and forth? Thanks

Everything seems great. The shutter speed options look a different to me though can you help explain because I'm used to selecting 1/48 for 24fps and 1/120 for 60fps and I do not see any of these present. Thanks a bunch though, you really helped me out!

Sorry for the other thread... I don't use forums and I do not know how to delete the unnecessary thread...

Hi I am using magic lantern raw on my 5D Mark 3. People are using 1920 x 818 for 24fps, but do not see the 818 to choose from in the height section of raw recording. .Closest number is 840 Also I do not see 1728 x 458 to select for 60fps. Instead closest numbers are 1600 x 480. Do you think I have an old build or am I skipping a step here???
#19
^^^ Does that mean I need to update to the most recent build because I do not see those dimensions to choose from. For example I do not see 1728 or 458 but rather see 1880x 480. And every time ML starts up the Raw module, the dimensions automatically go to 1360x580.

I've also read some users shooting at 1728x458. Thing is, I do not see these width and height numbers when I scroll through the raw dimensions. Any clue?

Hi I need your guys help! I just recently put magic lantern raw on my Mark 3. I understand how to shoot 24fps 1080. But I cannot figure out how to shoot 60fps. I keep reading different dimensions and having to stretch in post. I would like to know how to shoot 60fps continued recording (the longest it can record)- as far as dimensions, and how do I stretch it the easiest way possible. My current workflow is this: RAWMAGIC to Lightroom to Quicktime Pro 7, then editing on FCPX. I don't really want to use another program to stretch, any ideas? thanks
