General Help Q&A / Re: "FPS Override"
August 17, 2012, 01:30:49 AM
Thanks Alex.  I had tried this earlier but still got a 23.976 file, whereas I'm trying for a 24.000 file.  I did some undercranking at 22 fps and it seems that Magic Lantern conforms this to a 23.976 file?  On one hand, this is great as I don't have to mess with the speeds in my NLE, but at the same time I'm trying to see if it's possible to get files with these framerates.

Running the new build on my 550D.  I read in the manual that certain framerates are "rounded" to their broadcast equivilant.
Setting the FPS override to 24 exactly confims this as the video is still recorded at 23.976.  Is it possible to calibrate Magic Lantern
to make it not round and record a true, absolute 24 fps?

  8)  Greetings!
My friends call me El.  I shot the first feature film to be completed on on the T2i and was also an early adopter of the T2i port of Magic Lantern.  I've been using it ever since it was available and remember thinking that all the features I wanted had already been unlocked.  And then there were more.  And then a nice interface.  Kudos to the Magic Lantern team!

I'm a controversial Christian filmmaker, that first T2i film was "Leap: Rise of the Beast", which is part two of my Leap trilogy.  Currently I'm in pre-pro for "Leap: Revelation".  Find us on facebook at facebook.com/leap3movie
