I need to film a comedy video in the style of a single-camera sitcom with lots of zooming in and out (a la "Parks & Rec" and "The Office"). But when I zoom using the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my Canon t2i, the brightness changes in LiveView. It gets brighter as I zoom out, and darker as I zoom in. How do I maintain the same level of brightness when zooming?

A friend of mine is a professional organizer and she needed help creating a video that shared tips and promoted her business. It's a straight-up 90-second video, no tricks. (I'm an amateur, so I don't have any tricks.) Really pleased with the color and clarity from the t2i. I could have gotten better sound with a lavalier, but the Rode videomic pro did a really nice job inside the apartment. Be sure to watch in 720p.

If anyone has advice on how I'd make it better, say the word.

I'm running ML on a Canon 550D. I'd like to monitor the audio as I'm recording (using a Rode Video Mic), so I purchased the Sescom cable (for the 550D) and a pair of low impedance headphones. I've turned "Audio Monitoring" on in ML. I hear audio in the headphones, but only through the right channel. Left speaker in the headphones is silent. I haven't seen any other reports about this problem. Total amateur here, so apologies if I've missed something obvious.

Total amateur here. This is my first video using a Canon 550D with a Rode Videomic and Magic Lantern. I've never used a DSLR before. Edited on iMovie.

I've since learned about the importance of having a boom mic and using White Balance.
