Title: raw2dng or rawmagic for AE workflow?
Post by: ilia on June 17, 2013, 05:43:03 PM
Any benefits using rawmagic(cinemadng) over raw2dng(dng), for After Effects ACR workflow to create ProRes 422HQ?

raw2dng is probably the best for an AE workflow, but I would recommend switching to a Resolve Lite workflow if your system can run Resolve.  It is about 40x faster at processing the footage to ProRes.

But if you're using AE, seems like a waste of HD space and processing power for the 16bit up conversion in RAWMagic.

Unfortunately can't run Resolve on 3 year old iMac i7, graphics card not supported, crappy ati radeon 4850 with only 512mb ram.  When you process thru Resolve is there any flicker as with ACR?
