I wish ML was available or the Nikon D800 or Sony Alpha 7R

The ML team has done a great job with Canon cameras. I ran ML for three years on my 550d and recently upgraded to a 5d mk3 instead of a blackmagic cinema camera due to ML. However the mk3's sensor does not hold a candle to Sony's sensor in D800 or 7R. That sensor has a native DR of 14 stops without Dual ISO! It also has a lot less noise allowing much more underexposure than the mk3. If the above to cameras could do a RAW output they would blow the mk3 out of the water.

Raw based (accurate) exposure feedback is what kept me from getting a D800.  I was happy to deal with the system switch (lenses/accessories/ergonomics), but didn't want to have to deal with trying to get accurate highlight exposure from a JPG pipeline, again.

Also, being pedantic, the sensor in Canon cameras is just fine.  It's why dual_iso works  ;)
It's the Analog to Digital Converter that noisy.  :(
