Hello all. I currently have the nightly build on my camera due to the fact that I want to get rid of the hissing/humming noise of my Røde Videomic. Not only am I have tons of trouble doing that. For some reason I can't even get the settings correct, so that you can even hear me talking!

I have spent the last 2 hours on this forum and countless other websites researching what to do. I have followed what others said to be the optimal settings and have had no luck. I am starting to think I received a defective mic.

Would anyone be able to walk me through to make sure I have the settings correct to even hear myself!

Settings currently:

In ML-

Override audio settings: On
Analog gain: +15dB
Mic Boost: +30dB
Digital Gain: (the blue box is not lit up, but within those settings everything is set to 0 and Record Effect Mode is set to Loud)
Input source: External stereo
Wind Filter: DC filter: On | High Pass Filter: On | HPF2 Cutoff Hz: 400hz

In the Canon Settings-

Sound recording: Manual
Rec level: 3/4 mark
Wind Filter: Doesn't give me the option to select it.

On Røde Videomic-

Both with the button switched to regular and 80Hz, the audio sounds the same.

These are all my current settings. Can someone please correct my problems if they are blatant. I am not good with figuring out sound. I just wanted better audio than the stock audio.
