When I review an image on my 5D2, zooming in is normal but if I try to zoom back out the image review is simply cancelled and I get a blank screen.
I've searched through 10 pages and used the search function but still can't find a reason for this or how to fix it.
I'm relatively new to ML 2.3, having only recently bought the 5D2, but I can't see anything in the menu to explain why I can't zoom back out of an image review.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong guys?  :-[

I love how ML makes HDR creation so much easier.
I started with my 7D with ML alpha2, I've recently bought a 5D2 and it's great to use the full-fat ML.  8)
Here's a church I found today: 5D2, Zenitar 16/2.8 fisheye, edited in Lightroom, Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 and Topaz software.

i don't know if this is a bug.
when i shoot HDR 9 frames and i use live view the camera isn't taking the 9th picture.
happend a couple of times know. with live view of no problems

best regards sander
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the idea of ML HDR was that the software analyses the scene from the first exposure and then takes however many shots are required to capture the entire dynamic range. I don't think there is a hard and fast number of exposures it will take every time.
I tried it yesterday inside a house and it refused to take more than three exposures because that was all the scene needed.

Again, I could be wrong though.  ;)

(btw I like your HDR work, nice style you have there)

Hi All,

Many thanks for the info on how to install ML on my 7D, just a quick question am I right in saying that at the moment once I have installed ML on the 7D I need to keep the same CF card in and shoot with this in and once I have turned the camera off I need to go through the installation of ML again to use it ?

Many thanks

Mark
That's right, each time you cut the power to your camera you will have to re-install Magic Lantern. Luckily it only takes a matter of seconds to do this.  ;)
If you were to load ML then change CF cards your camera would cut the power when you open the card door, so re-installing would be required.

Hi, need a bit of help, I am very new to all this and own a 7D which I wish to do more with the HDR setting. At the moment the 7D only lets you take 3 images can this be increased with the ML firmware update and if so how many will it allow me to take ?. The 7D that I have has the Canon firmware updated to Ver. 2.0.0. Also I am not sure where to download ML for the 7D on this site and is there instructions on how to install and use the firmware once it has been downloaded.
I do understand that what I am asking is quite easy for some of you on this forum, but as I say I am very new to this.

Many thanks

Mark
Hi Mark, the answer to your questions are in the first post on this thread http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=3974  ;)

The user guide is here http://wiki.magiclantern.fm/userguide

To get started...
Installation
1) Update camera firmware to 2.0.3
2) Format your CF card from the camera
3) Extract contents of ML .zip into your card's root folder
4) Run "firmware upgrade" once again
5) VoilĂ . Magic Lantern. (press DELETE for menu)

Quick check reveals the camera will only power off ( and disconnect from computer) when the shutter speed is 1 second or faster.
1.3 seconds and slower than that, the camera will not power off.
:o

I'll try other combinations tomorrow, time for bed.  :)

Quote from: Digital Corpus on October 18, 2012, 11:50:04 AMYou have no idea how much I (and obviously many others) appreciate the work you're doing. Thank you for your dedication to this aging camera. I was fearful I'd have to drop ~500 on a T2i/T3i to get this toolset for recording video on a trip I'll be taking. I'm just antsy for more usable features. It's like Christmas for 7D owners yet we get to impatiently watching the toys being made in front of us ;).
Well put, I couldn't agree more.  :)

I'm an ML virgin so I'm very excited to have these new features on my 7D. I've followed the developments for a couple of years, always with my fingers crossed for the magic to happen on a 7D. (fingers are knackered now  :o )

I use, primarily, old manual lenses so the focus peaking/trap is invaluable to my dodgy old eyes, especially when using fast glass like the Nikon 50/1.2
I have now crossed my remaining fingers and toes for the HDR elements to come into play, but I'm a patient guy so if it arrives this year I'll be very happy.

Many thanks to all involved.  :)
