is there still any chance in the future to get rid of the pink dots in camera?
or do we have to live with it and try to optimize the PinkDotRemover tool?

Wow, JKB that looks incredible!

I'm confused by when you say the H.264 has been expanded 120%. Can you explain that?

I'm a newbie obviously about how Canon's firmware H264 compression works.

Does the Canon firmware actually shoot at 1920x1080, or like ML does it shoot at lower dimensions and then expand to 1080? In that case, is neither the Canon firmware nor Magic Lantern "true 1080p" ?

Thanks!

Recording in 1080p with canon firmware gives you a bigger frame than recording at 1600x600 in raw. So i had to scale up the h264 version by 20% to make it fit to the raw version for a better comparison.
The Raw Version was also scaled up by 20% to 1920x720.
So normally you would get a slightly better quality with the h264 than its shown in the video since its scaled up a bit.

@ JKB2013

and wich one is REC with Raw??? right or left???

The clip you see first is h264.
So the left one is raw.

I´ve uploaded an h264 vs raw comparison video, the difference is huge.
In my opinion it´s a really useful function in many situations, even though the workflow is more complicated.
