In this thread:

http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5809.0

AudioNut replies with "it is already there, look at the feature list." The feature list contains this:

" Zoom In: quick image magnification: a single click can zoom all the way in, on center point, on AF point etc (configurable)."

... which I *think* is what is being referred to but I don't know. What does "zoom all the way in" mean? (It is a vague statement that.)

Similarly, in this thread, it says "read the existing list":

... list of what? The feature list says nothing about aspect ratios.

I'm all for reading documentation and searching, but if what's present doesn't match up with what is being searched for then who's to blame? More comprehensive feature descriptions and documentation would mean better indexing by Google and better search results leading to fewer duplicates.

Yes, I know, this is the one feature every developer hates...

Allow users to zoom in on images such that one pixel in the JPEG (or full size RAW thumbnail) is one pixel on the back of the camera.

It's not exactly clear if Canon's image review for pictures presents a 1:1 magnification on the screen at the back but if it does, close this out. My feeling is that it doesn't but I might be wrong.

The way in which the video recording selection should be different.

Rather than offer "1920x1080" or "1920x500" or whatever, it should offer "<horizontal resolution>, <aspect ratio>"

So, for example:

RAW 1080p, 2.35:1
MOV 1080p, 16:9
RAW 720p, 4:3
... etc.

or something like that.

Or maybe format (RAW:1080p, MOV:1080p, RAW:720, etc) is chosen and then the aspect ratio is selected from a list of those that are supported.

Asking users to select a video mode as an expression of resolution is not what I'd call an intuitive interface for videographers.

When writing images to the CF/SD card, append a checksum (SHA/MD5) to a given file that covers the contents of the file being written (either JPEG or CR2.)

This allows for verification that there has been no bit-rot (or other corruption) when files have been written to the card in the camera or copied from the card/camera to the computer. (Some USB CF/SD adapters are not so good in this space.)

Perfect would be embedding the hash in the file but extracting it would be difficult and CR2 does not support this(?). Maybe embed the hash in a DNG file (if DNG supports such a thing.)

When taking photographs with "raw" mode selected, it would be nice if the images could be saved from the camera and on to the card in DNG format.
