Hey all, just figured out what was wrong.

As mentioned, battery could be the culprit and it was really the culprit. To help all, I was actually using a battery grip... I tried removing the battery grip and use only the camera's battery chamber and the battery level % started working. I was happy :)

Then I tried installing the battery grip again and then again the battery level % went back to 100%... At this point, I know that the battery is not the reason for my complain.

So, i remove the battery holster from the battery grip and transferred the battery to the other slot (since the holster allows you to use 2pcs of LP-E6)... and at my surprise, the battery level % started working.. Happy now :)

This case is close >>> thanks dslrrookie, if you had not mentioned battery issues then I would have not look into the possibility's of battery issues.

Aftermarket batteries read full all the time.  Use a Canon OEM batteries for charge indicators.

Hi dslrrookie, that sounds logical. I got this 60D from a second hand market vendor. So he might have sold to me the 60D with a non-OEM battery (though I cannot tell the difference, since it looks the same with the OEM batteries).

I will purchase an OEM battery soon, since it also needs to be replace in a few months and hopefully will solve issue.

Will update this as soon as I am able... :)

General Help Q&A / Canon 60D - Battery Level 100%
April 09, 2013, 06:20:32 PM
Hi, first I would like to apologize if this is a redundant thread (if there's already one posted)... but here goes...

I have recently tried ML on my 60D but noticed that the battery level (as indicated by % symbol beside the battery icon) shows 100% (wont change to 90%, 70%, etc.). This is even if the actual battery icon has already lost a few bars.

The canon menu > battery info = shows the exact percentage :(

Is this a bug on ML or do I need to tweak something? Please send me some reply's, ML is almost perfect except for the so called "battery level in percentage"
