Hello,

I've been trying to install ML on my 5D3 for 2 hours now and everything goes perfectly until I have to copy the 5D3-113-bootflag.fir. Once I have prepared my sd card with macboot properly and put the ML, autoexec.bin and the bootflag files in as indicated in so many guides and putting the card in the camera I move to the update menu and push "ok" to update, but it gets error over and over telling me that there is no update file founded and that I should check my memory card and battery?

Any help guys?

Plenty of other people have followed the guides and haven't had issues.

Make sure you read this guide thoroughly:  http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5520.0
Or follow these videos thoroughly:  http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=6099.0

Don't put extra files on the card or do 3 steps in 1.  Follow the steps as listed, step by step.

In that guide,  the update (with the bootflag.fir) has to be with the original 1.1.3 firmware for 5D3?
I'm using that 1.1.3 official firmware and following the guide religiously but my camera keeps telling me there is no file to update once I try with the bootflag.fir file copied to the root of my sd card.

What Version of the Canon firmware is on the camera?

Quote1. Format card on PC (must use card reader) and then format on Camera.
2. Put card back on card reader (PC) and copy the fir file to the card root directory.  Get it here: http://a1ex.magiclantern.fm/bleeding-edge/5D3/5D3-113-bootflag.fir
3. Put card back on Camera and go to the Firmaware update section (Canon Menu) do an update with the 5D3-113-bootflag.fir  Make sure you have a full battery, a dead battery during firmware update could be a disaster.

Follow these steps, 1 step at a time.

Don't put any other files on the card, except for the firmware.  This one:  http://a1ex.magiclantern.fm/bleeding-edge/5D3/5D3-113-bootflag.fir

Not the original Canon firmware or some other firmware your brothers cat recommended.  The one from the link.

Did I mention not to put any other files on the card!  Not the autoexec.bin, not any other ML files or folders, THIS FIRMWARE FILE ONLY.

When the update finishes, follow the remaining steps, step by step.

I have 1.2.3 but as almost every guide recommends I downgrade to 1.1.3 and then apply those steps, and I don't put any other files, but the camera just doesn't see the bootflag, it keeps telling me there's no update file :/

Which files are on the card's root directory?
