Hello,

first I wanna thank you guys. ML is a great project. But I may have a problem with the raw feature on my Canon 7D. Maybe I'm just stupid. I tried fixing it through research and changing the configurations, but I'm still missing the raw settings everyone else is having. I installed ML the way it was described in the install guide - everything successful. There's just no raw feature/setting i can configurate. I hope i didn't miss any information and get in the right subforum.

Thanks for help!

Top of page -> Downloads -> Browse Nightly Builds -> 7D.203
Download to local disk, extract contents and copy contents to CF-card. Done.
Access ML menu -> Modules -> RAW_REC ON -> Restart cam -> RAW option available in video tab.

It sounds like you have installed the Alpha version which does not support RAW.  If you want RAW follow this Guide:

Did it that way, but it doesn't work. Just missing a few more features after doing that, no raw or other features.

Thanks, but that's exactly the guide I was using. Everything worked finde, except this one raw feature missing. Now I try to reinstall it and I did everything like before, but EOScard is now stuck in progress: "Downloading_ml_britom[...]".

Also thanks for help.

You're doing it wrong. Please describe your installation process in detail.

As Walter explained, it is difficult to help when you provide very little substance to your problem description.

If EOScard fails to bring the ML files just go here and get them yourself.  http://tl.bot-fly.com/

Look for the latest 7D for example: tragiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2014Jan04.7D203.zip

I only use EOScard to make my card bootable and use it only when I do a PC format of my card (almost never).  To stay up to date with the latest builds just go to  http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/  and get the latest files.  Make sure you replace all of the existing files in your card so I always delete the existing files before I put the new ones.  Do not mix new files with old ML files.  Always replace the complete set, except for some modules that can be added separately.

Remember that if you format your card on the PC then the card has to be run through EOScard to make it bootable.

The EOScard added function of downloading the latest compile is a perk but apparently it does not always work.

So you can still use EOScard to make your card bootable: Make sure EOS Develop box is selected, Bootdisk box is selected and simply click on Save.  If all goes well the card will be made bootable and a "write sucessfull" message will appear on the bottom of EOScard.

Sorry, I'll try to give you as much information I can:

What I did:

1. Installed ML step for step with the guide RenatoPhoto posted (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7464.0).
- Everything worked fine, except the missing raw feature.

2. Opened this thread. Saw your post. Went to Downloads, downloaded Nightly Builds 7D.203 and extracted it local. Copied the folder on my CF card (I think that's the point where I messed up) but replaced the already existing ML folder.

I have to copy the extracted content of the Nightly Build ML folder and paste it in the existing ML folder on my CF card, since there is no .fir to install, right?

3. Messed up. Now I tried to install ML again, but EOScard.exe is stuck in progress when downloading the needed content (server problems? Can't download the content in the 7D-Raw-Thread too). Yesterday I did it the same way and it worked..

Sorry for my english ;). I hope you can understand what I'm trying to explain. Thanks again.

First of all you never explained WHAT raw features are missing!!!!!

1. Where you able to make the '7dbooton.fir'  file?
2. Did you do the firmware update procedure with '7dbooton.fir' file?
   This is the procedure:
         14.  Put your CF card in your camera, set the dial to M, and turn er on.
         15.  Open the menu, select the wrench, then firmware update.

If you did 1 and 2 then follow:

3. Put card back on the card reader
4. Use EOScard to make the card bootable, which is the main reason to use EOScard.exe
    get it here: http://pel.hu/eoscard/

Use EOScard to make your card bootable: Make sure EOS Develop box is selected, Bootdisk box is selected and simply click on Save.  If all goes well the card will be made bootable and a "write sucessfull" message will appear on the bottom of EOScard.

7. EOScard sometimes fails to get the latest ML files so go to http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/
and get the latest ML files.  If EOScard put these files in my card I would erase them and replace them with the originals.

Okay, so I was trying it again and this time I made screenshots of every step I made, answering the questions(+details/description). Maybe this can help?

ML Menue - Movie - between Video Hacks and Movie Tweaks: the "RAW video".

(I got the 1st screenshot from google, it's the problem I got yesterday. Because yesterday I was able to install ML. But the Raw Video was missing. I tried to reinstall it. Now I'm having the problem I'm talking right now, I even can't install ML anymore (screenshots) ).

RenatoPhoto

First I will assume that you have done the firmware thing so do this:

1. Put card on the card reader and format
2. Put card in camera and format
3. Put card back on card reader.
4. Use EOScard to make the card bootable, which is the main reason to use EOScard.exe
    get it here: http://pel.hu/eoscard/
5. Simply open EOScard.exe click on refresh.  Your card should be recognized.  Make sure EOS Develop box is selected, Bootdisk box is selected and simply click on Save.  Do not click on anything else, just click on Save
If all goes well the card will be made bootable and a "write sucessfull" message will appear on the bottom of EOScard.
7. Close EOScard if you get "write sucessful"
8. Go to http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/
and get the latest ML files for 7D
6. Unzip and copy the files to the card.

Put card back on camera and boot.

RenatoPhoto

If EOScard.exe put new files in your card.  Just erase everything except the Canon (DCIM folder and the MISC)
Now copy all of the files that you downloaded from http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/

The problem is that EOScard is putting some files in the card that may not be appropriate.

Sorry, but I've done all this stuff like 10 times and wrote it on the screenshots..

If all goes well the card will be made bootable and a "write sucessfull" message will appear on the bottom of EOScard.  Like I told you, I did, but nothing happens (let it open for about a hour). It's not working. I just clicked "Save" and it recognize my CF card.. (screenshots..)
7. Close EOScard if you get "write sucessful" Don't get this message. EOScard stucks in progress..
8. Go to http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/
and get the latest ML files for 7D I did
6. Unzip and copy the files to the card. I did

Put card back on camera and boot. I did.. I mean look at the screenshots and you will see I did everything.. But like i wrote before, it's not working[/b]

RenatoPhoto

Do it again but this time following EXACTLY STEP by STEP what I have written.
http://www.pululahuahostal.com  |  EF 300 f/4, EF 100-400 L, EF 180 L, EF-S 10-22, Samyang 14mm, Sigma 28mm EX DG, Sigma 8mm 1:3.5 EX DG, EF 50mm 1:1.8 II, EF 1.4X II, Kenko C-AF 2X

RenatoPhoto

IF EOScard.exe is stuck, in step 5 try this.

1. Put card on the card reader and format.
2. Put card in camera and format.
3. Put card back on card reader.
4.  Unzip the files from zip obtained from  http://builds.magiclantern.fm/#/
5. Copy those files to the card
6. Open EOScard.exe click on refresh.  Your card should be recognized.  Make sure EOS Develop box is selected, Bootdisk box is selected and simply click on Save.  Do not click on anything else, just click on Save
If all goes well the card will be made bootable and a "write sucessfull" message will appear on the bottom of EOScard.

By having the correct files in the card then EOScard should not check for them over the internet, and then it should proceed to writing the boot.

Did you actually enable the raw or mlv module from the modules menu?
