I have no original battery and battery grip can I install ML on my 7D?

hello I'm trying to understand how to install magic lanter on my 7D and I have read that I need the original Canon battery. or accessory with chip.
I have not Canon original battery (only fake). And I have a battery grip which is olso a third party tool. Will I be able to install magic lanter on my 7D with this equipment?
