Hey all,

I'm wondering if a Canon original battery is mandatory to install ML? I don't have one and I'm trying to avoid buying one if at all possible.

I have a good third party battery as well as the Canon AC adapter.

ML will be going onto a 60D

Any battery will be fine as long as it powers the camera.

Great, thanks!

Want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

You can't run the firmware update with a third party battery which not fools the camera...
EOS 7D Mark II, EOS 7D, EOS 5, EOS 100 + lenses (10mm to 300mm), 600EX, 550EX, YN600EX x 3
EOScard, EOS DSLR firmwares, ARMu, NiControl, etc.: http://pel.hu/down

Really? i've been using numerous different brands for the EL-P6 battery and i've never experienced any trouble what so ever.
Allthough the Canon's tend to keep their charge a bit better. I can update with any battery.

I think it has to be a decided battery
