So having upgraded from a Mk2 to a Mk3 and investing in some high speed CF cards I thought I'd go and test out the Raw and the workflow that goes along with it.

Using only my 2007 Macbook Pro, the 90Gb or so of rushes took me a couple hours to adjust one by one in after effects and another 20 hours to render to prores! I think if I'm going to stick at it I'll need to upgrade my machine to something that can run resolve.

Tried to see how far I could push the grade, lifting the shadows and pulling down the highlights, I got some flicker in a couple of shots but now having exported for vimeo, it's not as noticeable.

After I've picked up a fully loaded 27" iMac in January I'll re-do this project and see how much easier it is.

Looks nice :)

I've just upgraded to OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) which meant that I can now run Davinci Resolve - what a difference that makes! I can now do the whole conversion on the iMac, whereas before I had to load the .RAW files on to an old laptop, run BATCHelor, import teh DNGs as a sequence into Adobe Premiere Elements to convert them to a YUV4:2:2 file, which I could then transport across to the iMac and into FCP X. So, I feel your pain ;)
