And don't forget to thumb up, subscribe, comment and share this video on Youtube before 15/12/2013 to win several of the pre-assembled parts so you could build your own! And for more DIY film gear check out my DIY HDSLR playlist here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

In this video I will teach you how to build a camera jib with remote tilt made from various camera accessories and you can find in a camera shop. And only need to drill 4 holes through a plastic pulley and the rest is super easy to put together.

Parts list:
2x 10cm Rope Pulley wheels KBS100K10v - http://www.wielen-bandenhuis.nl/groef...
1x Dubble-L Bracket Falcon Eyes TMB-16T - alternatives on Ebay http://goo.gl/Hg7CLX
1x Boom arm grip adapter from Ebay - http://goo.gl/adX55Y
1x Manfrotto 234rc - http://goo.gl/WDm3Vx
1x M8 40mm Bolt
1x M8 90mm Bolt
6x M8 Nuts
4x M5 30mm Bolt
12x M5 Nuts
4x M5 bolt caps
4x Rubber bands
Few meters of washing line cable
Either a sturdy monopod or a boomarm. As if you would get a boom arm you could buy a set which included the boom arm grip plus also weights which lessen the total cost.

It's educational. I might just try to build one myself.

The "2x 10cm Rope Pulley wheels KBS100K10v - http://www.wielen-bandenhuis.nl/groef..." link is broken.

Thanks.

I have seen a ton of DIY videos on utube. I think he has the pole backwards. The thicker part should be by the tripod and weight and the camera goes on the extended end that gets thinner.

Makes no sense to build other way around as the other end has no mounting points. Plus both end is equally weighted with something the front with a camera and back a counter weight, so either way would do. But main point would be having a good monopod that can support both weights.

Its not german but Dutch but mainly you don't have to purposely order from them if you can find one with similar specs, but if you want to order from them you can email them to order it and use the code or part number KBS100K10v , their email is [email protected]

Heheh, I want a gib and this looks like the cheapest way... how is it holding a heavy camera tho?

search utube for diy jib and there are a lot of tuts on how to build these for low cost. some are very good, and some are not so good. they use the cable or a dual pole, square tube setup most of the time.

I think it is better to have the thicker part of the boom at the tripod head instead of a the thinner part if you use a mono pod for the boom. utubes show these kind of builds. I have seen many different versions on utube using mono pods or extendable light bulb remover poles or paint poles for this style. They all use the thicker part on the tripod mount section.
