Anamorphic viewing feature: Can the image be stretched across the full LCD?

As a frequent anamorphic shooter, I am thrilled that the ML team has included the capability be able to shoot raw 4:3 footage with an anamorphic lens and view it with the anamorphic viewing feature. The only improvement that I hope to see is this: right now, my 4:3 footage with anamorphic viewing switched on takes up about the middle third of the screen. Would it be possible to have the image automatically stretch to fill the screen when shooting in anamorphic viewing? This would allow for easier focusing.

Thanks!

Can't this be done in the RAW video menu using the "preview" option. Switch it to ML Grayscale I think?

I have tried the grayscale preview mode, but the image doesn't expand to fill the LCD and it introduces some crazy flickering.

Is there crazy flickering during the recording though?
Good footage doesn't make a story any better.

I wasn't sure so I tried it. No flickering, but the image expanded vertically, losing my anamorphic crop, and the frame rate got really chuggy. Also, the camera dropped frames within three or four seconds, which has never happened to me when shooting at this resolution (1600x1200).
