"Upgrading" from 550D to 600D, audio controls

I'm about to upgrade from 550D to 600D, just because of the articulating screen and wireless flash control. Those are big features for me and the upgrade only cost me about 50€ for the new(!) camera.

But to the question;

Is there similar audio controls like with the 550D? Can I disable AGC and set the gain manually? Also can I monitor audio through the USB port with the AV cable which comes with the camera? On both liveview and playback?

Is there any major differences between 550D and 600D in the case of Magic Lantern?

I recently also did the same upgrade from 550d to 600d. For me the main things were articulated screen and digital zoom. But it came with a price - 600d has worse audio hardware and really you can't use it without a preamp in normal environment where you have to apply some analog gain in camera. The hiss is really loud if you set the analog gain more than +15. Good that I had a Zoom h1, which I could use as a preamp, that way the sound is ok. I have the Rode video mic, which has no +20db option like the VideoMic PRO, I guess with the pro video mic the sound would be better,

Is the actual audio hardware physically worse than in the 550D? That is kind of hard to believe..

Maybe I have to think again the "upgrade" because I'm so lazy that I usually plug microphone directly to the camera. Sound quality is just about good enough for me with the 550D.

They are similar in quality... both kinda meh. That said, the AK ic in 550D/7D/5DII/III/6D sounds better IMO.
