I just installed the latest firmware and can't find any way to enable raw recording. I've been up and down and all through the menus and can't find anything.

Thanks for any help!

Firmware is good, but have you installed Magic Lantern? ))
By the way, ML for 5d3 works with 1.1.3, but not with the latest.

Chris Santucci

Yes, the firmware is installed. I just upgraded the ML folder and autoexec.bin files to the latest.

I know all about the canon firmware - I shot a 4 day short film with an older version of the ML firmware a month ago ;-)

So, what's the problem? Just go to Modules menu, enable raw_rec and shoot some raw )

Chris Santucci

I figured it out. "What's the problem?" The menu I was used to was changed quite a bit, that's what. It's not as simple as it used to be, but of course it's simple when you know how :-)

does anyone know if they will update ML to work with the latest FW from canon?
I am at the latest and heard that you cannot go back to the 113 ver....?
I am desperate to try it out but don't want to damage anything.....
I am a virgin to ML and not willing to fry my MKIII to just test it out...

No idea when ML will move to 1.2.3. I've downgraded to 1.1.3 and so have many others on this forum. I've had no problems, nor to the best of my knowledge has anyone on this forum ever reported a problem from their downgrading to 1.1.3.
