can you help me to understand the crop factor when shooting RAW please?

 hello, I wish to understand how to calculate the crop factor when shooting RAW. which calculations should I do?

for example RAW continuous shooting on 600D is 960x540. on 7D is 1728x972. on 5D Mark 2 is 1880 X 1016 if Reply #130 is right (here link )

Assuming the same aspect ratio for both you can just divide 1920 by the width of the recording then multiply that by the crop factor of the sensor,  MKII Full Frame  would be 1920/1880 * 1.0 = 1.02 crop etc...

Well, technically CF = CF=DIAG35mm / DIAGsensor, so you should divide diagonals, not horizontals.
By the way, the resolution of the whole sensor is differ for different cameras. It is 1920 on 5dm3, but in case of 600D it's 1728.

e.g. 1880 is the real horiz. resolution of 5dm2, so no crop.

Technically true but if both are the same aspect ratio then it doesn't matter if you divide horizontals, verticals or diagonals the result is the same. Good point about the 1880 though, I forgot about the 1880 upscale on the MKII.
