Does somebody know if it's save to remove those lut files from my CFcard if I'm not using the defishing function?

Let's answer it this way: Why do you want to do that?

I know, I know. It's absurd to try to save a few Mbs when you use an 8Gb card. Let's say that I'm obsessed with file size and I thought to reduce my ML folder in 1,3Mb.

To answer the question, one needs to review the error handling code where these files are used.

And if you come up with a better implementation, even if it's just rewriting the existing code in a nicer way, it will certainly be appreciated ;)
