Quick Question- Canon 50D

Hi, I have a Canon 50D running latest magic lantern firmware. My question is I've noticed the HDMI input on the camera, and was wondering if it could be used to connect to a HDMI monitor so I can have a nice large live view, is this possible?

Will the monitor work will with the 3:2 vs 16:9 difference? Keep that in mind for when you shop:)
