60D micro switch by-pass "card protected error"

My 60d has fallen to the card protected error. I am wondering if there is a line of code that can be written to tell the camera not to look for the switch.
I am no code master and would need help with this.

Yes, i have checked the lock switch on all cards.
Yes, i have re formatted various cards and still get "card protected" error
Yes,  i have used compressed air to blow out any dust etc.

From my understanding the micro switch in the reader that detects the position of the write protect tab has broken off or is stuck.

I am currently 3 days into a 2 week trip. Kinda stinks camera decided not to work.

It may be possible; CHDK guys use this method, and a few years ago I tried to find it.

I ended up with a broken card after flipping that switch a few times, so I'm not going to try again
